Just get yourself to your mums Al

FuzzyPuffling · 23/10/2023 13:58

That's not what I'd call bleeding.

doctorsnoddy · 23/10/2023 14:00

I'd hang up on him call handler. How rude.

Raahh · 23/10/2023 14:00

What part of 'he's 2 hours away' don't they seem to get ?

FuzzyPuffling · 23/10/2023 14:00

I love capable Brown Owl.

Raahh · 23/10/2023 14:01

Pat seems no nonsense.

Stroopwaffels · 23/10/2023 14:01

Poor Al. And poor Al's mum.

All a bit close to the bone for me today, had a similar call from my dad not so long ago saying mum (who had dementia) had fallen and couldn't get up. Luckily the ambulance came very quickly but mum never came home from hospital as it was just one thing after the other. Luckily I was in a better place than Al and was able to jump in the car and get there in a couple of hours.

Raahh · 23/10/2023 14:03

Don't worry Emma- Nina will leave soon!

doctorsnoddy · 23/10/2023 14:04

Depressingly I remember that from Brownies too!

FuzzyPuffling · 23/10/2023 14:05

That's a Scout song, not Brownies.
We just did knots and our Hostess badge.

FuzzyPuffling · 23/10/2023 14:05

Aw Stroop that's tough. How are things now?

FuzzyPuffling · 23/10/2023 14:06

We used to.sing a daft song about "Kookaburra sits in an old gum tree..."

I'm.almost their age.

doctorsnoddy · 23/10/2023 14:07

So did we. And London's Burning

Raahh · 23/10/2023 14:08

We used to sing that at school.

I was never a Brownie though.

FuzzyPuffling · 23/10/2023 14:09

I wasn't a Brownie for long. I hated knots.

doctorsnoddy · 23/10/2023 14:10

You tell him Betty

doctorsnoddy · 23/10/2023 14:12

Nina really doesn't want to be a partner

Hugely miserable at this news!! I adore Doctors, I evangelise it to everyone. It is unapologetically my favourite programme.

I stopped watching it when Mac disappeared (remember him, back in the Dark Ages?). When they tried to promote Jimmi as the resident medic 'sex symbol' (and occasional singer) then all credibility went out the door for me.

FuzzyPuffling · 23/10/2023 14:12

Well.thats not going to help is it Al?

Sharpness19 · 23/10/2023 14:20

If anytime is ancient like me, I recognised the actress who played Eve, she was in “Dear John” in the 1980s. She was the one who would ask everyone if there was any sexual problems that contributed to their marriages breaking up. 😂

liverpoolnana · 23/10/2023 14:28

Did I hear Emma say 'should OF' instead of 'Have'? Surely not.

Seaoftroubles · 23/10/2023 14:39

@Sharpness19 Yes! l remember her in Dear John. With John played by the late, great Ralph Bates.

I loved 'Dear John' I always liked Kirk- the bloke who pretended to be an ott John Travolta wannabe- but lived with his mum. (and was really called Eric, iirc)

I will now have the theme tune stuck in my head.

Sharpness19 · 23/10/2023 14:45

They were showing it on Forces TV semi recently until Forces TV was discontinued.
