Grrrr, two days in a row a colleague has pinged me at the last minute for a meeting on Teams when Doctors is starting. I have my lunch break in that hour so I can watch it in peace. Not amused.

Raahh · 23/11/2023 14:36

I'm trying to watch now- the reason I only half recognised 'Baz' was in her Casualty days she had very dark hair.

Raahh · 23/11/2023 14:43

I have 'Bad Medicine' by Bon Jovi stuck in my head now, thanks lovely locum- and I don't even like Bon Jovi .

Grin.

Raahh · 23/11/2023 14:44

She came out of retirement to treat one patient??

Raahh · 23/11/2023 14:48

Blimey- a lot of staff shouting at each other today. . Not that Ruhma didn't have a point.

Raahh · 23/11/2023 14:50

Eww. Creepy step dad. Poor woman. Sad

Raahh · 23/11/2023 14:53

'You're a better person than I am' well, Jimmi wasn't arguing with her.

JL690 · 23/11/2023 14:55

Mindfulness is the catch all cure. Like antibiotics 🤔

Raahh · 23/11/2023 14:59

I must admit, I do not get on well with mindfulness or therapy in in general(remember dd1 doing something at school about licking chocolate minstrels- they were big on mindfulness- dd1 was not). But if it helps, it's a good thing I suppose.

Stroopwaffels · 23/11/2023 15:04

Mindfulness is good for mild mental health issues. I suffered really badly before I was put on HRT with anxiety and racing thoughts. The idea of mindfulness is that you focus entirely on one thing - usually your breathing, or the sensation of sitting on the sofa. Recognising when your mind starts to wander, and bringing it back to the focus. It calms you, gives your mind a break and does help an awful lot of people. It's also just as effective for some people as taking antidepressants, especially when coupled with exercise/healthy living. And it's cheap for the NHS.

JL690 · 23/11/2023 15:05

I don't indulge in it either. I'm quit self-critical tbh, the good and the bad.

Stroopwaffels · 23/11/2023 15:05

And wasn't Jimmi in casualty too? Did he and Baz overlap??

JL690 · 23/11/2023 15:09

Like mother like son! Wise young Joe.

I couldn't remember him being in Casualty- but he was in Holby- not long before Doctors started. I think Baz waz in Casualty from the start- so about 15 years before that.

Raahh · 23/11/2023 15:20

It does mean that 'Jimmi' would have been in Holby at the same time as 'Karen' though, I think.

Zara made Tash cry!

The most acting she has done in 20 years.

Still not credited, though. A permanent cast member but never having a storyline. She's like Tracey the barmaid in Eastenders!

Jo the receptionist from the very early episodes was in Casualty for a couple of years too, as a Bex the receptionist.

I’ve realised I’ve not watched yesterday’s episode yet.

I hope @Raahh dog was ok at the vets and nothing too painful/expensive.
I've never heard of furries..you live and learn.

OCaledonia · 26/11/2023 19:37

Baz locum was awful to the eating disorder patient 😞

OCaledonia · 26/11/2023 19:39

I've finally caught up with the show and the thread. I'm getting pretty bored of DocTors and wouldn't bother keeping up if it wasn't for this thread & I've only got to endure a finite amount until the end next Christmas 🎄
Poor Tash getting her big break just as the show is coming to an end.

Thank you- he's having injections for a knee problem, and has a bit of a skin issue.
My dog has a habit of getting 3 things wrong with him, when we have only taken him to the vet with 1 Grin
He's ok though- just sleeping a lot.

FuzzyPuffling · 26/11/2023 21:23

The furries storyline made it onto the feminism board!

EerilyDecorated · 26/11/2023 23:24

I'm behind on the thread as usual, I never seem to be able to watch live at the moment. I remember Baz from Casualty but there wasn't even a glimmer of recognition of her here.

I'm also not very clued up about furries. But I can well believe the Doctors storyline was clunky and inaccurate.

And the Daily Mail!
