What does anyone think of Arthur saying it took 10 minutes to write his vows?

It seemed the friends felt it was too short a time to write them. And I think what he meant was (once he knew her) it was easy to write vows and maybe it was his own insecurity that made him go to the internet for the initial vows.

Yes that was my interpretation like "once I knew her the words came so naturally" rather than at their wedding where he had no idea who he would be speaking the vows to.

43ontherocksporfavor · 20/10/2023 17:46

Yes I thought he meant that once he thought about it the words came easy because they were true.

At the end of the day it's each to their own..some guys seem to appreciate a chunkier women, some a bossy one. Women are in charge because it's about sex and hormones and they are the ones who nature dictates as being choosy, a monthly cycle within an important time frame unique and unknown to them

Exactly- it should be each to their own. Fancy what you want.

Not a very illogical lumping of black women as overweight

It's as ridic as saying all white women are full of botox, fake tan, fillers and hair extensions- even if the a good 80% of women on Mafs is like that.

Theproofofthepudding · 20/10/2023 18:56

@Myfabby I'm definitely out of date, but I can still see trends..a big booty is relatively new to me...I was more blessed in the chest department....eventually. I was a late developer and an early finisher hormonally..it totally changes your pov

HelpMebeok · 20/10/2023 19:00

Mark reminds me of Lord Farquaad from Shrek. Sean is so lovely.

I think the new guy who married to the girl who lost the weight would suit Bianca

dillite · 20/10/2023 19:23

What the hell even is a girl's girl?

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/10/2023 19:32

Why are there no normal people on this show? It’s all hair extensions, huge fish lips and Turkey teeth. Or is this the new normal?

Ros and Thomas are normal? Jay is normal and paul too.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/10/2023 21:14

But they are in the minority!

Floofydawg · 20/10/2023 21:21

@Ramalangadingdong yeah he's a good lad, she's very settled.

mewkins · 20/10/2023 22:16

Catching up on last night and it's ridiculous. I rather liked when Laura lost her rag and her accent suddenly slipped to Hampshire farmer though 😄

squirrelslikenuts · 21/10/2023 00:32

We are all different, and so are our experiences of life.

sweetkitty · 21/10/2023 00:48

catching up! it’s so good watching it with a teenage DD it’s like red flag central.

JJ -like everyone else said what are they seeing in him? Usually I’m the last person to diss someone’s looks but his hair and eyes and he can’t speak. When he and Ella had their “date” it was so cringe they were like 2 15 year olds at a school disco.

Luke - started off liking him now he’s just a big shit stirrer

Laura & Arthur - she thinks she’s above him in every way. He needs someone who doesn’t look down on him and loves him for who he is.

Ella - car crash, if I hear one more time that Nathaniel doesn’t fancy her! I think she gets a lot of attention from men but once they learn the truth it’s a big no no and that’s hurt her deeply. She’s trying so hard to be this OTT hyper sexual woman she comes across as vulgar and crass. And I think this is what Nathaniel didn’t like. plus all the he wanted a boy stuff

Tasha & Paul - she’s very insecure and an angry person. He’s lovely and so laid back

Roz & Thomas - I do like them but don’t see them lasting

Sean & Mark - Sean get some self respect you’re not his servant/carer

MrsCatE · 21/10/2023 01:27

Bugger. I can't get into this series at all or your updates; usually my favourite bit!!! I love all your input but in particular, @SheldonesqueTheBstard succinct and pithy round ups plus introducing new and intriguing colloquialisms!

Really interesting point made by @sweetkitty. Not being disingenuous at all but this could almost be on the curriculum on how to identify red flags. There appears to be so many the bunting would never get unraveled but we have the whole gamut - from 'I've only been with pretty girls before' to 'listen to what I'm saying because that's the only way you'll learn'.

How do the production company do their due diligence? Plus why are they practically forcing couples to shag? 'Ok, you think he's a twat. If he has any brain cells they must have migrated to his strange hair piece. Tell you what, give him a shag and see us next week'.

We've already mega verbal abuse, destruction of personal property and coercion. Are production really hoping for even more aggression?

Blackandwhitemakesgrey · 21/10/2023 01:40

Tasha is genuinely scary. I don't understand why there isn't some intervention when she kicks off. She is bullying.

What was Nathaniel going to say to Ella when he was cut off. Something along the lines of 'You said you were only on the show for' and CUT!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/10/2023 08:15

I suspect he was going to say something like exposure/fame/money!

vjg13 · 21/10/2023 08:28

Roz and Thomas look so happy and relaxed together now compared with earlier episodes.

43ontherocksporfavor · 21/10/2023 08:38

I think Roz and Thomas have had the most normal reactions to the whole experience. As strangers their apprehension was normal for most people. Real attraction beyond instant lust takes a while to grow.

TemporarilyshyAF · 21/10/2023 08:43

Just caught up.in full, man I appreciated Biancas sweary takedown. Knew there was a steel core in there, hopefully she will never again try too hard with a bloke. Quite right about Ella being no girl's girl and JJ simply being a dick. How long was he going to sit and let her puzzle in front of everyone. At least Nathaniel had the decency to put her out if her misery. I also liked that she stayed at the table instead of leaving.

Tasha's behaviour was awful. I hope she is pulled up on it, she feels out of hand and unreasonable. Erica is tough but not a brawler. I don't think Tasha recognises that combination and expected her to either back down or engage in a fight hence pushing for a last-word apology when not owed one. I reckon paul defended her publicly but will have been put off since this wasn't isolated.

It feels like Roz and Thomas are progressing like a normal couple who have met at the office- suddenly one day thinking 'ooh, he's nice', bit awkward at times knowing everyone is watching, slightly regrettable drunken shag, getting to know each other slowly

Luke showing his colours there

A job in TV? She thinks she's the new Rylan.

Cheeseistheword · 21/10/2023 09:16

Just catching up on all of this. Obviously JJ never fancied Bianca because he likes a plastic women, which is troubling in itself, but I think the reason he never said anything was because he didn't want to hurt her feelings. All along he was being nice to her and held back on telling her he wasn't feeling it. Probably because of a lack of maturity too in not knowing how to deal with it without being mean. But I do really think he was trying to be nice in his own simple way. You could tell at the dinner party too that he felt really awkward about it coming out and Bianca being upset. He was a bit like a deer in the headlights. He played it all wrong - separating himself from her and messaging Ella behind her back rather than just being honest with her - but I do think it's because he didn't want to upset her and doesn't have the intellect or maturity to navigate it.

I'm not sure about Thomas. I think in that group setting he felt like he had to fldefend their relationship and stand up for himself. Artur was being a bit of a dick (feels insecure in his own relationship) so got in there quickly before he and Laura were discussed. Thomas looks like a fish out of water among all of them....they are not his people.
