It makes 'good' tv though...and launches unknown people into lucrative careers ( they hope) #blinkeredandmanipulated

I thought Tasha's apology was genuine enough and basic social niceties nean Erica should have responded with her own apology even if she doesn't have much to apologise for. Tash is emotionally incontinent and the experts should be helping her as I think she sort of knows it.

Erica though is subtly baiting her I think. Interesting with the new girl as she's very attractive and getting on very well with a proper hunk of a man. Both things Tash and Erica won't like and could well have made them a team if they hadn't drawn such strong battle lines.

After being called Tramp by Tasha, Erica owed no apology to Tasha. Apology should not be on condition that other person need to apologise too. And if she genuinely felt she was in wrong, she should have not been upset at Erica further. Maybe she realised she would look bad.

Some posters are justifying Tasha's mean girl behaviour by saying Erica is baiting her, but her reason was she felt disrespected because Erica moved away when she came to hug.

Tasha was also pulling weird faces when Bianca was having a go at JJ and Ella last night.

Earlier, she was gossiping about Ella liking someone's husband with full on weird expressions to Adriene, a contestant she just met.

Previous episode she was fake comforting Ella and then later told Nathaniel that Ella was texting JJ.

I thought she was Ella's friend.

She seems like a person with no self control and anger issues. She couldn't keep her mouth shut when Erica was asked about her honeymoon and I'd they were intimate and everyone cheered for birthday sex.
She talked about negative vibe everyone is getting from Erica and when asked she refused to tell who. It's then Erica said then don't talk about them. Which made Tasha so angry that she got up to threaten.

She is loud, insecure and attention seeking. Paul is very easy going, and that's why they are doing OK. So far their relationship is all about working around her insecurities and guards due to her past experiences, she has done nothing for Paul. Paul is like a puppy nodding and agreeing to anything she says including her reasons for calling someone tramp.

I wonder what Paul's mum thinks.

It was my understanding that for African men it was once considered a good thing culturally to have a plump wife...because having food was a sign of wealth. It explains how many overweight white women have attracted the attention and had families with black guys instead, because of cultural expectations..times change but your parents play a part in your choice of partner good or bad...or instinctively

I get totally distracted by Bianca's hair and keep wondering how the hell she can get it back to her natural colour without shaving her head.

What does anyone think of Arthur saying it took 10 minutes to write his vows?

It seemed the friends felt it was too short a time to write them. And I think what he meant was (once he knew her) it was easy to write vows and maybe it was his own insecurity that made him go to the internet for the initial vows.

I think he meant it as a positive thing!.as in once he got to know Laura, he wasn't stuck for nice things to say. Laura's eye rolling friend was determined not to see anything good in him though.

I can't remember how long he has been speaking english but wondered whether he still has to take a beat to think through everything hence can't argue as quickly with e.g. Thomas and seems to get left behind conversationally sometimes. I feel like he had a point in mind with Thomas and Roz but couldn't get his thoughts out fast enough. Maybe meds if he was ill, maybe subtle language barrier under pressure?

JaneJeffer · 20/10/2023 15:53

@JellyBeanFactory better or worse with 1 or 2

Theproofofthepudding · 20/10/2023 15:54

The twerking booty thing wasn't something in my younger days..it's come from black culture along the way IMHO, and not a bad thing. Fat white women got some attention..I couldn't stand it personally;)

I Dont Think So No Way GIF by TLC Europe

I don’t care for any statement that Ella cares to make while they still chirp about being a girls’ girl.

No. No. And thrice no.

I think that Arthur doesn't help himself with those sorts of comments, but I accepted his elaboration of it - that he was saying he didn't have any excuse for not having done it in the first place. Like a lot of things they can seem more daunting in anticipation than reality.

Only just catching up now. I really like Nathaniel and I think he probably is genuinely pissed off. But also no doubt relieved that Ella gave him a get out.

Ella and JJ... what a fucking state.

@TemporarilyshyAF - I would agree about Arthur struggling a little with English. This was one reason he gave for taking his initial vows from the internet.

I get the impression that this is part of why Laura has warmed to him over time. Without the pressure of the cameras, or being in a larger group, she's probably had more of a chance to get to know him past his slight awkwardness with English.

beastlyslumber · 20/10/2023 16:27

Bianca's speech was epic. Really wiped the smirks off their faces.

She's been treated absolutely appallingly. At the end where she spoke to the camera and said, "I just wanted to fall in love." Instead she got used as a pawn in a nasty game all about validating disgusting male behaviour in the name of progress.

Fuck that noise. Poor Bianca.

JaneJeffer · 20/10/2023 16:34

I can't see Arthur and Laura working out while her annoying rolly eyed friend is around. She would turn me into Tash if I had to spend any time looking at that condescending expression. I really don't know what to make of Arthur anyway. He's an enigma.

I look forward to the inevitable Laura/Nathaniel OK magazine spread which will be a feast of beige.

Floofydawg · 20/10/2023 13:51

@Theproofofthepudding I do agree but JJ clearly thinks he's a God and he's really not. His voice gets right on my tits, and his hair is awful. Bianca's hair would look so much better dark. The roots are awful.

Sean looks like my daughter's bf (who is also a Geordie).

Sean is so attractive. Lucky DD.

TemporarilyshyAF · 20/10/2023 17:15

Did anyone else think Thomas owed Arthur an apology for 'simian neanderthal' by the way? Soz, I know it's ages back but I felt that was out of line and way too harsh to say Arthur had been asked the question and had to pick someone.

43ontherocksporfavor · 20/10/2023 17:24

Yes I do think he should but Arthur didn’t seem to register the hostility did he? 😂

RobynRB · 20/10/2023 13:31

Seriously. I am not generalizing about all black women. But you can't seriously tell me that you haven't noticed that overweight black women being considered 'sexy' is a thing. It seems to be cultural, at least by the episodes of Bridezillas I watched (granted perhaps not a significant or reasonable sample) - skinny black guys marrying fat black women over and over again. And then there's Megan Thee Stallion and the other one in that WAP video.

Beth Ditto is quite fat. And white. Kelly Clarkson used to be quite fat too.

I see it differently to you, @RobynRB I think some black women in music have been brave pioneers who stood up to body shaming and fat phobia while other women have dieted themselves to nothing in order to fit gender stereotypes and in so doing have helped to maintain the sexist status quo.
