I know I'm an idiot but I'm still liking Fantasy Island and Saint Sean. Sean seems to like the dominatrix vibe.
We went to Lapland when the DCs were tiny and it was brilliant. We didn't get to sleep in a cabin like that - their honeymoon made me want to go back.
The other new groom made the most sincere apology I've ever seen on MAFS. But I agree with a PP that it was too early for the weight loss photo and also think that it was a bit early for that type of argument. I like them but I'm not betting on them lasting.
As for Ella and Lego-head, they're the most blatant cheats. So bloody selfish and disrespectful. Nathaniel doesn't care and Bianca needs to be told there is no hope. But neither of them would have fought to stay so JJ and Ella could have ended their <ahem> 'marriages' before 'playing pool' together.

Pete Burns!!! That’s it!

HowDoesThisWorkPlease · 18/10/2023 22:26

In the preview clip is Nathaniel wearing a dressing gown to the dinner party 😂😂😂

squirrelslikenuts · 18/10/2023 22:31

Spot on about Ella. Also, her maleness is innate in her reactions. I.e. why won't he sleep with me? No-one has ever rejected me?
It seems to be about lust, as opposed to a long-term relationship, in which case lust, is never enough.
It must be hard for her, but, she needs to grow up and understand a woman's life isn't easy. Even if you look like a doll all the time.

SwedishEdith · 18/10/2023 22:33

Just turned over to +1 at the massage bit. That diver's (Matt?) body is so overdeveloped. Horrible.

Hairline is right but the cat is missing the little squinty eyes, also the cat is quite cute.

Bunches.

Fucking bunches by Christ.

Oooh and cracking plastic glass.

Ye ain’t no Cyrell.

Did someone mention Cyrell? YOU AIN'T NO KING DING A LING!

She can never understand this because she was not raised female.

The fringe on the cat?

It is the only one of the suspect fringes getting that close to a pussy….

JJ is not the prize Ella thinks he is.

RobynRB · 18/10/2023 22:59

I'm not so sure JJ has thought this through either. He sees what he thinks he likes (huge plastic tits basically) but does he really want the inevitable drama that goes with it? I doubt it. He may be a tool but he doesn't strike me as a drama llama... I'd love it if it turned out that 'Victoria's Secrets' was actually a pole dancing club he'd been too.

MouseMinge · 18/10/2023 23:27

JJ just wants to get his end away in any hole that comes with plastic tits. Ella just wants her hole filled by any bloke who is fool enough to think she's a prize. Neither of them are prizes, well she's a booby prize. I shall get my coat!

The gay guys I know who are ott and lie as easily as breathing developed both as defence mechanisms. The lying starts from hiding they're gay - even if they have a supportive family there will still be places they hide their sexuality eg school, work, walking down the street. That constant insecurity seems to keep all their emotions teetering on the edge and then quite often their first gay community that accepts them (equalities clubs; gay bars; drag clubs) rewards and recognises ott drama.
They're crying out for genuine connection whilst absolutely terrified to risk it. And they're kind-hearted, fun and generous below the bluster.
I also have gay friends who aren't like that at all. Instead they are sensible, dependable and live on an even keel but they've always been secure in their sexuality, personality and place in the world.
Someone said I collect waifs and strays. If I was on the iexperts' couch, they'd say I'm drawn to people who push others away.

Sweeping stereotypes. None of which change the fact that Mark is is hideous, lying, clueless orange troll, more suited to living in a owl hole in an oak tree in Farthing Wood.

chaosmaker · 18/10/2023 23:29

I see what you did there :D
Hope it goes well tomorrow too x

JaneJeffer · 19/10/2023 00:11

Those arguments were totally manufactured. It's like the producers said you need to argue and make up and they had to come up with something because they're actually getting on great so Mark did a little stomp out when Seán said they might not always agree on things and the other two had the show off thing.

This new lot are going to have their heads explode when they go to the dinner party.

Paul2023 · 19/10/2023 00:19

The JJ and Ian Huntley reference. I cannot unsee it now !

Paul2023 · 19/10/2023 00:24

JJ just wants to shag Ella’s plastic body.
Apart from that she’s drama. He won’t settle down with ‘her’.

I don’t get the appeal with him. He speaks like a teenage boy, he is as thick as mince and looks an already mentioned infamous murderer…

JaneJeffer · 19/10/2023 00:26

I feel like JJ should have a responsible adult with him on the programme.

dayswithaY · 19/10/2023 07:37

I’m done with this series but I can’t stop watching until we’ve seen the Dinner Party - it’s a pay off for all the boring fakery we’ve had to wade through. We are all aware of the real story here, but we’re just going along with the narrative.

Nathanial has said from Day One what really happened, yet we’re watching his faux outrage and packing a bag to move out. Why did JJ and Ella meet up in a pool hall and awkwardly stand a mile apart like teenagers at a youth club? Laura and her friends were so condescending about poor Arthur, he seems genuine but she really looks down on him like he’s her pet husband.

The only decent people on there are Roz, Thomas, Jay and Paul. No idea about the new people because they shoe horned them in towards the end when we were already invested in the original couples.

I hope Roz and Thomas get to live happily ever after and I hope Jay gets someone who deserves her.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 19/10/2023 07:39

Pet husband 😂

Italiangreyhound · 19/10/2023 10:19

I do think that some gay people may well get used to lying in order to avoid outing themselves, it's not an excuse, it's a thing, I think.

To be fair Mark only lied about his age, and it was quite a silly lie. I think there is a lot of bluster there, and I think it is designed to push people away.

The stress of coming out to a father who is very negative, and later kills himself, can only do some very negative things to your personality. I think the Dive image is his shield. I don't like his personality but I can see where it comes from, maybe IMHO.

Sean seems lovely and does seem to genuinely like Matt so that is good.

So true. However many bits are cut off and/ or remoulded, that innate male entitlement can never be removed

I was talking about people I know. Not stereotypes. Not every gay person. Fgs didn't think I needed to add NAGALT. I'm not trying to change anyone's view. I was replying to an earlier poster's question about people who are friends with or like people like Mark.

TemporarilyshyAF · 19/10/2023 12:00

I hope that gave Mark pause to think about why he lied as soon as speaking and whether it was worth it.

He said it seriously, it was on TV, verifiable and was going to come out anyway, plus it embarrassed him for it to come out that he's known for fibbing. Sean took it with kindness but it probably raised a little flag as Mark was so convincing.
