This is really interesting to read about the bottom surgery. It's something I've never thought about before.

About 3 episodes ago my partner said tasha looked like she could be mean and have strong opinions and I had said no she's lovely. She's one of the nicest. He must be more perceptive than I thought

usernother · 13/10/2023 13:23

I think that Tasha is rough. And I think her behaviour may put off Paul.

Sorry, I appreciate you don't like the term 'wound' - it's meant to be descriptive, not judgemental. However, it is absolutely trying to close up. That's what the dilation is for. You wouldn't need to "maintain the depth" of an actual vagina. This is a surgically constructed cavity. And yes, it's lined with skin from the penis or bowel, which means it's not self-cleaning like a vagina is, and is subject to things like growing hair inside, getting infected, smelling bad because it's hard to clean, etc.

It's definitely a huge surgery to go through, with potential for huge ongoing issues, and a lot of issues in terms of sex and dating. I would think it's probably very traumatic. Yet another reason why putting Ella into the public eye is probably not the best or kindest thing to do.

I don't like the term "wound" here because it's medically inaccurate and obviously being used to disgust other people. A wound is a break in the skin that can bleed and allows infection in, and the body needs to close it to maintain the barrier. Surgical wounds are created during the surgery to create a neovagina, and those heal. The neovagina itself is not a wound.
"That's what the dilation is for. You wouldn't need to "maintain the depth" of an actual vagina. This is a surgically constructed cavity." Well some people do need to dilate their real vagina for various reasons. But in any case a surgically created cavity and a wound are not the same thing.
Likewise:
"Not self cleaning like a vagina" =/= wound
"Hair growing inside =/= wound
"Smelling bad because it's hard to clean" =/= wound
"Getting infected" =/= wound and any body part can get infected, or maybe you've never heard of bacterial vaginosis or thrush.
People can use emotive language to make vaginas sound disgusting too. That's misogyny, I think you know what this is.

trulyunruly01 · 13/10/2023 13:36

I thinkTasha feels there are two processes going on - for the young uns in their 20s (her, Ella, Roz, Jay) and the oldies in their 30s.
Now, the reasons for her feeling that she and Paul rate higher than Ella and Roz as a couple are fairly obvious. Why she imagines Jay rates below her you can ponder over. I don't see any connection between her and Laura, Peggy or Shona, never have.
But she did feel that she was something of a Queen Bee.
Now two more 20 somethings are in. And she couldn't control her feelings about that.
Paul is so laid back that I'm not sure he would like the drama. Hope someone tells him.

trulyunruly01 · 13/10/2023 13:43

And I still think Ella only values herself for one quality. Her journey in herself is nowhere near finished. She has tunnel vision and can only judge herself as a sexual being.
I struggle to keep myself attractive to my partner, 39 years in, of course I want that but I've also always put value on 'looks fade, cooking don't', along with lots of other stuff that goes on outside the bedroom.

MelsMoneyTree · 13/10/2023 13:43

Oh I think someone will tell Paul. Jordan seems to be involved in the 'drama' at the next dinner party and I'm guessing that's because Erica tells him Tash was shouting in her face and made her cry. They won't be able to have that discussion without Paul getting pulled into it. He might defend Tash in public but I'm not sure Paul will find fighting in the street* an attractive trait.

*I know they didn't really fight in the street but I'd bet one of those uneaten afternoon teas that Tash has fought in the street before.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 13/10/2023 13:49

Paul

She looks a wee bit like Chanita eh?

I may be going to reserve judgement on Tasha’s outburst. Either she has been wearing a hell of a mask for the last few weeks, she has an ishoo or twenty or she’s a bastard with a drink in.

I used to work with what I thought was an angel walking on earth. Give her a slack handful of jäger bombs on top of cocktails and she went all wrong if anyone looked at her funny. Incredible.

Like other MAFS dramas this series, I suspect something happened off camera that we were not privy to. That reaction was way too extreme.

Erica looks really really familiar. I’m not taking to her either. I don’t know about auras and shit but she’s ruffling my feathers.

Edited

I'm not using emotive language. I'm describing what the "neo-vagina" is. You think the word "wound" is emotive and meant to disgust - that's not my intention, so I stopped using that word. Everything I said is factual. I'm sorry if that bothers you, but there it is.

Shall we get off this subject now, since it runs the risk of completely taking over the thread? And I also want to talk about Tasha turning out to be a bad 'un.

I remember the first episode where we saw Tasha and she was with her friends, she was lairy AF. Loud, gobby and a bit grim.

I agree with this. Also, why she makes faces all the time. She seems incapable of connecting with people.

Other than talking about her past, or how better Paul is compared with her exs, she has never reciprocated feelings to him. Paul comes across as someone really nice, so hope he doesn't get hurt in the process.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 13/10/2023 13:51

Wise words.

I really like Paul. He might be the only one I still like! I always found Tasha a bit loud and annoying but I did think as a couple they were good. But if Paul is genuinely as nice as he seems, he's going to be well fed up with Tasha.

Why have they done such a terrible job finding people and matching them?

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 13/10/2023 13:53

Paul may be able to overlook Tasha’s edges. Depends how foofstruck he is.

Paul’s mam won’t.

Paul just seems like a slightly goofy good egg. He would disappoint me if he got a bit gobby.

I’ve gone right off Artur.

I don't want to derail the thread either since I just lurk on it but you and others started talking about Ella's genitals which is totally disrespectful and uncalled for and as I saw the inaccurate and offensive term "wound" I had to call it out. I like to think I've educated you on what a wound is and is not. Enjoy the rest of the thread.

Eeeeeeeeeee it's all kicking off! Just caught up. I think Tash on the lash is giving us Northern girls a bit of a bad name. I can see that Erica was possibly trying to wind her up a bit but I don't actually blame her - Tash defo thought she was Queen Bee and I don't really know why. She's a wrong un.

Very well put.

Ssme92 · 13/10/2023 14:47

Tasha's facial expressions have always been awful in my opinion. When the camera flashes to her during commitment ceremonies she always have a face on her. I'm not a fan of her.

Laura and Arthur are very quickly becoming the worst couple aside from Mr Universe
