Oh Christ, please make them leave!

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 03/10/2023 22:04

Classic abuser speech by Brad there- don't listen to what anyone else says about our relationship, it's all about us....

openallday · 03/10/2023 22:05

I can kind of see why Shona is getting on Brads nerves

She's like a broken record

OrlandointheWilderness · 03/10/2023 22:05

Fuck he is a bastard.

A Bradstard!

Newtogym · 03/10/2023 22:07

I can't believe he said "shut up" to her like that in front of the group

dillite · 03/10/2023 22:07

I think the reason why Shona needs to be validated by the other couples is due to her being bullied in the past. That's literally all she knows and will forever be seeking validation from other people.

dillite · 03/10/2023 22:03

In fairness to Laura, she never has said that she is after a man to pay for her. Fancying Chelsea boys doesn't necessarily mean being a gold digger.

Yy Luke assumed a Chelsea boy was rich. Laura used it as shorthand to describe where they lived, where they socialised, etc. Luke and Jay are either mean drunks or just don't like Laura.

dapsnotplimsolls · 03/10/2023 22:10

Laura was presumably too busy being pee'd off with Luke to tear Brad a new one.

I like Luke. I think him and Jay probably feel like Laura looks down on them. She is kind of a snob.

MelsMoneyTree · 03/10/2023 22:11

At least it looks like the expert is calling out Brad. Good. He can't go any longer without being challenged. It would boost their credibility if they sent him home.

Newtogym · 03/10/2023 22:12

I don't love Laura but Luke was out of order with his comments and I think she handled it quite well

browneyes77 · 03/10/2023 22:12

Brad is so aggressive and controlling.

I’d like the experts to take him to task….lets see. The preview of the couch commitments looks like they may a little.

Sunbird24 · 03/10/2023 22:04

Brad needs Shona not to care what others think so that she only cares what he thinks

Yep.

beastlyslumber · 03/10/2023 22:14

Brad is just going through the abusers' code: lovebomb, devalue, discard, hoover, repeat.

He is furious with Shona for paying attention to anyone else because he needs her to only pay attention to him. He needs to alienate her from the rest of the group so she has no context and no validation for her feelings of hurt and anxiety.

AtlasPine · 03/10/2023 22:16

I think Nat’s natural draw is to other men or boyish women. Ella is a sort of hyperwoman, exaggerated almost to a satirical level - and not his type. Whether Ella is trans or not isn’t the issue. It’s the stereotypical flouncy bouncy glossy leggy tittsy lipsy heavily made up bit.

I'm curious about the hoover bit? I get the rest but what does that mean?

Brad's eyes freak me out

There's a lot of white on show at the bottom

Dead like a shark

Hoovering is when they've discarded you but then come back and try and suck you in again.

Aha, gotcha!

browneyes77 · 03/10/2023 22:56

Notice how Brad stands up to talk to the group to assure them he and Shona are for real etc, but bit Shona’s head off when she told him she felt the group didn’t think they were for real.

He shut her concerns down, but then used them to address the group.

This whole zen, spirituality thing is such a crock of shit. It’s just a cover for him being a controlling dickhead.

bumblenbean · 03/10/2023 23:12

Luke is annoying me now. Admittedly the couples he was slagging off have their problems but he’s become very judgy all of a sudden, and Jay chipping in surprised me. In that game best not to get too smug, it nearly always makes you end up looking a fool.

Brad has accelerated to full on deranged and he’s not even trying to hide it now - he’s even got a bit of the look of whatshisname who played the lead in American Psycho 😱 Shona is beyond help. Not only can she not see the wood for the trees but she’s so petulant about everyone agreeing with their ‘love story’. It does start to become clear why so many of them are single …

Laura I’m not sure about, she hasn’t had much screen time. Roz and Thomas are dead in the water...

determinedtomakethiswork · 03/10/2023 23:17

I think you could have really good questions in the honesty box, but actually doing it in front of everyone makes it less genuine. The question about ranking of a couples was really awful. I can't see the point of asking that at all. They could have said something like tell us one couple who seems to be doing everything right. That would've given a positive example of how to have a good relationship.
