I honestly thought I might give this new incarnation a miss, but was having one of those waiting-for-other-people mornings where you can't get anything much done, so I thought I might as well give it a shot. And of course I'm suckered in now. Terrific opener. I didn't see it coming either.

It feels the same, but wtaf...?!!! The end of the episode was mad!! Will wait for others to have watched before saying anything more. But, prepare to be surprised...

What on earth happened at the end there? I kept expecting it to be a dream or something. No spoilers but I’m very much not happy with that.

I have just watched it and - yes - big surprise. I won't spoil it as many won't have seen it yet. I thought the way it carried on the format of the Final...with the voiceover at the beginning was brilliant and helped to bridge the gap. I get the feeling this new incarnation will be full of surprises and dramas but with the same sense of comforting neighbourly storylines, we have been used to.

I too was hoping it was a dream... could it still be? Or am I clutching at straws? I'm not happy about it if it's real..... (when I say 'real' you know what I mean ).

I've watched it and I'm confused about my feelings. On one hand, a shake up can be good and make it more interesting but on the other, I don't like it🙃😩will obviously keep watching but I'm not on board yet.

I watched that feeling all comforted like neighbours used to make me feel but now it's thrown me through an absolute loop and I had already seen a spoiler for that storyline! I love that it had the exact same feel as it always used to and was so good to see so many familiar faces.

Does anyone else think that Lucy Robinson is really starting to look like Helen Daniels?

I thought it so weird that in 2 years they have been with other people, split up/divorced, got together and then got married with their previous partners so ok with it they were at the wedding and lending something borrowed.

I don't think it's a dream though, the little clips from future episodes clearly showed Paul having regrets over letting Therese go.

I thought the ending was so bizarre!! I had to rewind to see if it was a dream, but with the ‘coming up’ trailer it doesn’t look like it ……and I’d also seen the spoiler but didn’t believe it!

I liked the voiceover bit, but I did think the overall feel was a bit different. I’m not sure if it was the sets or the music, but something felt a bit off. I’ll still watch it though 😁
