I went out to pick up dd2- what happened to Carlos? The first set was pretty close.

I just had it on in the background so I don't know whether Carlos didn't play well or Jannik played really well!

I liked Jannik's chat about them both changing things up to outwit each other each time they play.

I'm sure Jannik probably played well- it's new territory for Carlos, I just hope he isn't injured at all- we need him to get back to the top of the rankings at some point. It's the thing that seems to really drive Djok. He knew he didn't need to play these few weeks, because he has a cushion at the top.

Bit of an odd day, because there is an over lap with Beijing and Shanghai- where Stan has started his first round match- lost the first set against lajovic, and is in a tie break in the second.

Seb Korda did well in Astana- he made the final, but lost to Mannarino, who has had a pretty solid year.

I’m very confused by the tennis - why can’t tournaments just start on a Monday and finish on a Sunday?

Mid week finals are weird!

Fizzy I really don't understnd the scheduling of the Chinese tournments- I'm sure they never used to be like this. It could be due to the new tournments that have sprung up since Covid- plus the change in the Davis cup format. It's still odd.

Doesn't help the players who will play both.

Anyone watching the final? It’s great, Jannik just taken a very tight first set. I think this is the best I’ve seen him play.
