Oops got the title wrong in my first thread - have requested deletion

Starting tomorrow on itv1

“My Mum, Your Dad is a British dating reality show that is set to begin airing on ITV1 on 11 September 2023. It will be presented by Davina McCall and follows middle-aged single parents heading to a romance retreat for a second chance at love which is overseen by their children.”

From a Google for the show it appears there is already 1 season of the US called My Mom, Your Dad. So presumably the same format.

Anyone planning to watch?

Is this the show that was billed in the media as an upcoming middle aged Love Island earlier this year?

I somehow don't think Martin M's son found the ad for the show and thought 'Oooh I'll nominate my dad for that'.... much more likely Martin M found it, and asked his son to nominate him!

Poor Luke must have known his Dad would embarrass him, I feel sorry for him. Whereas the other kids all seemed to genuinely want their parent to find love

In all fairness, I think a lot of single parents, would get their kids to nominate them. One of my work colleagues said she was going to get one of her kids to nominate her next year.

It sure is, but sometimes I think if it's right, it will work out. My husband was from a different Country. We visited each other once a month and spoke on the phone every day. I eventually moved over to him and then we both moved to my country, 25 years later and still together.

I told my DS that I want to go on it next year (we'd just watched the episode with the intimacy workshop). He said no. Luckily I'd rather cut my own hand off than go on TV!

Do we think there’s going to be another series , as the surprise element of the children being the ‘Relationship Experts’ is out? Surely parents will behave differently knowing their kids are watching everything?

I'm currently watching the new series of Sex Education on Netflix. I'm fascinated by Gillian Anderson. She has very few wrinkles for her age and has very expressive facial movements.

I wonder if it's no surprise that she has had it done due to her having really low self esteem. The first thing I noticed when Sharon was introduced was her lips. But I know for lots of people that's normal, it's just not where I live.
But I don't want this post to come across as bitchy. Women can do whatever they want. Sharon is beautiful and she's picked a handsome lovely man. Good for her.

Yes I'd like to add that I wasn't being catty, I do think she's a lovely person and appears to have been through something terrible (can relate to some of her behaviours). I just thought it seemed obvious as to why she had no wrinkles.

Yep you can tell that Sharon has had a lot of "tweakments" done botox, fillers and lips...I think it's quite obvious from looking at her...nothing wrong with that at all each to there own, but that is why she looks like she does

I’ve got behind with it and have just been catching up. Agree with everyone else that all the kids seem so lovely and mature - I found it really interesting that both Monique and Tollulah’s daughters could see them repeating past mistakes and wanted them to go for Martin H. I also hope Martin H can find himself someone amazing after this show, he is such a great guy.

Janey is 47, so the serious droops have yet to take hold, Natalie is younger again, Sharon has had a lot of work done and Monique is blessed with skin that is slower to age. Interestingly, the most natural of them all, Caroline, didn't pair off with anyone. Men are incredibly predictable. There's not a man on this planet who doesn't want the younger, sexier model if it's available to him. I find Martin H interesting. If he really is wealthy and living an affluent life in Ibiza, then he'd have no shortage of women. So why is he in the show.
