Anyone else watching this?

I think it just came out. I highly recommend it.

it’s a German show that stars with a premise very similar to the movie Room.

the woman escapes (not a spoiler, it happens in the beginning) and the police have to find out who she is and if it’s linked to a disappearance 13 years before.

The shows follows the investigation and flashbacks to the life inside the house.

I’m on episode 3 and it’s so gripping, will definitely finish it tomorrow.

@2023usernameNew the 2 cops were told "the owner has decided not to take things further" (this was re: the police entering the site without permission), I thought the male cop asked "has he come to tell you that in person?" And then looked at each other as if to say, we've not seen his face/interviewed him yet, so then female cop went out to find him...

Re: cameras and nurse Ruth, I didn't understand why he had to kill her. Ok, so Hannah told her that daddy is watching the camera so he wouldn't have wanted that known. BUT the next day dad himself leaks the "Zombie girl" picture - presumably to get Hannah picked up by grandpa sooner and taken to his house, from where would be easier to get her back? But of course this triggers the police to immediately question who has access to these cameras, which makes murdering the nurse pointless.
Unless I have missed something and it was implied another person took the still and sent it to the media?

The carer watching the little boy always had her phone out I thought it was her who leaked the picture.

I also kept thinking the detective looked like Spider form Corrie 😂

Same!!!

Just came here to say poor Nurse Ruth ☹️

I know, I really don't understand why that had to happen.
Was it because she twigged about the cameras?
Hannah wasn't the best witness to believe, it could have been perceived as all cameras were watching as she had grown up with that.

JellyBeanFactory · 11/09/2023 23:56

Just watched over two nights, was hooked!

I too wondered what happened to all the other "Lena's" between the original (who died along with baby Sarah) and Jasmine. Did they die or were they killed?

Also, was Poppa actually talking to them through the cameras or was it in their heads?

And, was Hannah in on the kill at the end? She did ask to go to Edmont to see the beach and lighthouse. Although I'm not sure how she and Jasmine could have planned it. So maybe not.

All in all, a good thriller that kept me guessing and wanting to know the outcome.

I was really sad about Nurse Ruth. She was lovely

jay55 · 13/09/2023 09:20

I thought maybe he was just jealous of nurse Ruth as Hannah bonded so quickly with her. So killed her as he has to be centre of the universe.

I was so creeped out when the groceries arrived.

Agree the police chap looked like Spider. I'd be quite happy for a series of him and the woman police lady solving crimes.

ermmm · 15/09/2023 22:03

Jasmine flat got new security / her dad changed her locks for her he gave her new keys when he dropped her bacl( they’d how the cameras got in.

lazymum99 · 17/09/2023 10:01

Binged this over 2 evenings. Really good. I honestly thought the grandpa was involved at first. Would they really let such a damaged vulnerable child back to the grandparents with all the journalists outside.
I felt bad that I started to dislike the girl. She was creepy and not nice to her brother who gorgeous

gettingolderbutcooler · 17/09/2023 10:20

Watching Wilderness at the moment. Gripping!!

BonnyHonny · 17/09/2023 10:21

I thought it was excellent.

Throwncrumbs · 17/09/2023 10:23

Yes it’s very good

efeslight · 17/09/2023 10:26

Haven't read the whole thread, as I have only watched the first 2 episodes.
So far, suspicious of the security guard who works by the military area, the grandfather and even the psychology Dr. Like the actress who plays the grandmother.

I was wondering if she was in on the ending from the start, hence giving the glass (being vague so no spoilers) and reminding them all 'he's watching' in a helpful way, rather than threatening. I think she was terrified of returning and had learnt appeasement of captor due to the way she was brought up

I was wondering about that too, but if Hannah gave her the glass to help her fight papa, then why was she so loyal to him the rest of the movie? E.g. she wouldn't tell anyone that papa was going to be back, lied about all the other men shown in photos saying they were all papa, kept whispering to Jonarhan that papa will take them home really soon.
I wonder if she gave the glass to defend herself against strangers whilst waiting for papa?

AgathaQuiztee · 17/09/2023 16:24

My question is how did Jasmin and Hannah manage to get through the minefield without tripping a mine?

JMSA · 17/09/2023 17:34

I enjoyed it mostly, but was a bit confused.

Jasperdale · 17/09/2023 21:28

really enjoyed this. The little girl was creepy and I got the impression she made papa kill the other woman when they didn’t measure up to original Lena. She said she wanted to keep this one as she told good stories. Can’t see any other reason why he killed the previous Lena’s? The main detective guy looked like the man from Cloudy with a chance of meatballs!

dooneyousmugelf · 18/09/2023 14:37

I wasn't as hooked to this as others, but persevered to the end. I was expecting more! Like there being a massive conspiracy that most of them were in on, or...something.
I kept thinking the lead was quite Adam Sandler-ish 😂

Jasperdale · 18/09/2023 21:42

Did anyone else find Papa was not sinister enough when we met him? He seemed quite affable and kind to his daughter , a complete contrast to what we were shown when they were captive. He just didn’t seem scary or believable.

Greensleeves · 18/09/2023 21:44

I just looked it up on Netflix and it's dubbed with American accents Angry does anyone know if you can get it in the original German with subtitles? Does look like a good story.

Just change it to the original

Brumbies · 18/09/2023 21:53

Just finished it.

Brumbies · 18/09/2023 21:54

Best watched in German (with subtitles if you can't speak Deutsch)

Catterbat · 18/09/2023 22:20

Well apparently I’m in the minority then because I thought it was complete garbage 😂
