Anyone else watching this?

I think it just came out. I highly recommend it.

it’s a German show that stars with a premise very similar to the movie Room.

the woman escapes (not a spoiler, it happens in the beginning) and the police have to find out who she is and if it’s linked to a disappearance 13 years before.

The shows follows the investigation and flashbacks to the life inside the house.

I’m on episode 3 and it’s so gripping, will definitely finish it tomorrow.

Yes wondering what the plotholes were?

I think how he had time to keep tabs on everyone, find nurse Ruth and build a new lair and how he got access to children's home cameras, how the surveillance team didn't spot him outside the flat

FastFood · 10/09/2023 12:40

SPOILER just replying to @DarkForces look elsewhere if you haven't finished watching

I think he went to the flat either before he abducted Jasmin, or when Jasmin was in hospital.
At this time, there was no surveillance since they thought they had the guy.

How he did for the children's clinic though...i guess he's good at his job 😂

DarkForces · 10/09/2023 13:01

Ah. I thought they had surveillance straight from hospital as they thought there was more than 1 perpetrator after the dna tests
I must admit I thought the whole company was in on it so they'd have the manpower to do everything he had to 😂

FastFood · 10/09/2023 15:21

You're probably right! So maybe he put the cameras before he even abducted her. The way he picks "Lenas" isn't addressed at all actually.

GhostFaceInMyWindow · 10/09/2023 15:25

I'd like to know how and why the previous Lenas died. (I know the mother of Sarah apparently died of "childbed fever")

Was it all accidental? Easier for him not to have to continually have to abduct another woman surely? Or was he killing them.for fun? Or were they killing themselves ?

I think he puts them in his victims flats while they're trapped and they know he'll be watching, hence the theme of 'I did everything right' from the girl and Jasmine's terror and lies to the police from the start

I'm So happy to have found this thread, I am one episode in and hooked.

But wasn't jasmine the first one to escape? The rest mysteriously died before they could escape. Or do you mean he wasstalking them before abducting them and put cameras in their flats before they were even taken?

DarkForces · 10/09/2023 18:07

Sorry. I mean putting them in while they were trapped in case they escaped, it was just the first time he'd needed to use them

GhostFaceInMyWindow · 10/09/2023 18:22

Oh right I see yes that makes sense @DarkForces . Still want to know how they all died though 🤔

DragonFly98 · 10/09/2023 18:25

I thought it was awful - disturbing and the worst dubbing I have ever seen.

I can never watched things dubbed because it always ruins the show for me. It has to be in the original language with English subtitles otherwise I’d hate it!

That's an idea actually I may try subtitles in future.

I agree- I think they deserved more air time. It was very much skimmed over

The dubbing wasn't great. I watched it on low volume with subtitles, but I often watch with subtitles so it doesn't bother me

This is right up my street! Thanks!

Definitely give it a try! It does mean that you have to keep your eyes on the screen the whole time otherwise you miss what’s happening but that’s probably the only downside

AnyFucker · 10/09/2023 18:46

Loving this

DarkForces · 10/09/2023 19:00

Do you think there was enough clues to give you a hope of guessing who it was? Even when his face was revealed I was thinking 'Who on earth is that?' 😂

Chamomileteaplease · 10/09/2023 20:07

Am I right in thinking that it was impossible to guess because the audience didn't know this guy existed?!

Also, was the man who got his face all cut up, just a poor random man who had stopped after hitting Lena in the road?

Really en joyed it and thought it well acted.

Name99 · 10/09/2023 20:21

Binged it and loved it!

Yes! The girl killed him and 'dad' cut him up with the glass to distract/lead police astray

I only started suspecting him when he went to the police station just to let them know that all his employees were clear or some other information, I can’t remember what it was.

and the guy cop said ‘and he came in person To tell us himself’, and he and the girl cop sort of looked at each other.

i think his face was revealed maybe in the following episode?

I also think he could have gone into her flat to install the cameras via a different entrance. When she left, it wasn’t via her main building’s door where the journalists were waiting for her.

the one thing I’m not 100% sure about is why did the girl give her the shard of glass? Did Jasmin plan the ending all along? I’m not certain about that.

By the way, how cute was the boy? I really wanted to bring him home with me.

I think I'm a bit confused about it all towards the end 🤣

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/09/2023 22:47

I also kept thinking the detective looked like Spider form Corrie 😂

Hopelesscynic · 10/09/2023 23:34

@2023usernameNew the 2 cops were told "the owner has decided not to take things further" (this was re: the police entering the site without permission), I thought the male cop asked "has he come to tell you that in person?" And then looked at each other as if to say, we've not seen his face/interviewed him yet, so then female cop went out to find him...

Re: cameras and nurse Ruth, I didn't understand why he had to kill her. Ok, so Hannah told her that daddy is watching the camera so he wouldn't have wanted that known. BUT the next day dad himself leaks the "Zombie girl" picture - presumably to get Hannah picked up by grandpa sooner and taken to his house, from where would be easier to get her back? But of course this triggers the police to immediately question who has access to these cameras, which makes murdering the nurse pointless.
Unless I have missed something and it was implied another person took the still and sent it to the media?
