What do you want find out in the final series of Ghosts? (sad that is it the last series)

I want to know why Pat always references France/French - I think he used to get the CDs from the Daily Mail on how to teach yourself french and had day-trips to France

If Alison and Mike's baby can see ghosts

Will Alison find out it was Julian who pushed her out of the window?

More Barclay and Bunny - no question, just like them both and want to see them in series 5

When will the next series start - I assume mid-November with final episode at Christmas 😃😭

No thanks- I'm enjoying the discussions DH and I are having about any possible endings. We think a nativity would be such a cliche.

I want Alison, Mike and the baby to become ghosts but DH says that's awful.

Has anyone bought the book? I saw it was out too late to give any hints for a Christmas present, so may have to buy it myself after Christmas. Reviews are very good.

@dollybird I've bought it for my dd and had a quick flick through, but it looks good. It was £10 on Amazon when I bought it.

We got caught out by last night's Christmas episode. We thought it was the new one and were confused why it was on then, and why Alison had no bump, but then saw the stage and realised it was last years. Still, great to watch again. Like a warm hug☺️

Seen it but not been able to hint to dh as the gift I want this year is unusually spendy

I’ve just been rewatching Christmas specials while writing Christmas cards. In the first one Mike’s sisters are dreadful to him. I hope the mum and dad pulled them up on that.

I got the book for Christmas and it's great. I have done a skim read and annoyed my entire family by snorting aloud. It's quietly filthy in places but a couple of bits give a bit of insight as well and it's typically sweet.

I may be in a minority but I enjoyed the Xmas special. I got a bit upset when I thought they would be exorcised and liked the end, thought it was a good compromise as I couldn't think of a way which wouldn't otherwise have been too sad.

I agree. I enjoyed it too. But the “loved it”s are in a minority on the last episode thread that’s running.

How would the ghosts have managed with the uprooting of all they had come to hold dear?
How would Alison have avoided other ghosts if she didn't want a new build?
Other ghosts would have been all around on the roads/land etc
How would our ghosts have watched telly, played chess and so on?

Didn't love It but it was ok and I guess they tied it up as they intended. Fifteen minutes in and I was feeling a bit bored, especially all the MIL stuff but I guess that was all part of the scene setting for needing to go their own way.

The highlight for me was Pat's line about too many aunties, uncles and a pet - looking at Robin!! 😆

I think it would have made more sense if the ghosts had offered to move to the Gatehouse. But even then. It wasn't the right ending. It needed more gold at the end of the rainbow.

Ideally we needed to see the ghosts happy in the hotel setting and with their occasional visits, at the expense of mil exorcism. At least they avoided the more obvious nativity style ending though. The plague ghosts spa was a great touch though,

Don't forget that the ghosts have been in the house for a long time. They will have got used to it and inevitably Alison and family would have moved on.

I feel sorry for the ghosts. Eternity is a long time! And Alison would have been there for a tiny fraction of Robin's lifetime.

I am sure they would have had fun in the hotel. But maybe they would have got bored eventually

Much as we all love Lady Button, the grainy footage of her going out of the bedroom is quite unnerving.

I wish they’d collaborate on a special special Most Haunted episode with Yvette Fielding screaming over the wrong things.

Yes I wish we’d seen a bit more of the ghosts having fun at the hotel and chatting to Alison.

By the way, am I the last one to know that they’re all in horrible histories and wrote it? Couldn’t believe it when ds put one on the other day!

Yes I think you are the last to know! But the great thing is you now have all the wonderful HHs to watch and enjoy, plus there's the film Bill that's great and I'm pretty sure is on iPlayer.
They also do a series called Yonderland which I haven't seen as it's on Sky but that gets great reviews.
The troupe are basically geniuses!

As I just posted on the other thread, I just watched the ending again (actually I rewatched it twice ). It was so lovely and I'm in bits again. It was absolutely perfect.

I think I'm pretty happy with the ending really, I was so relieved the exorcism didn't work. I just wish we'd had less MiL and much more ghosts. I'd have loved a montage of them in their favourite places pre-ending, or a montage of their future habits post-future.

i loved it and didn’t in equal measure. I think it was just about the only way they could finish it and have the house still standing.

The ghosts will have had plenty to do with hotels guests to watch. And they got to come back and visit.
