DS and I queried the budget.. you could get from Marrakesh to Tromso for as little as £122..? Even adding bags and upgrading to business.. I don't think you would get to £1,500!

It's never going to be the Ryanair flight cost. I assume it's Business class on a prestigious airline and with a route like Marrakech to Tromsø I assume there isn't a direct flight so probably a spendy hotel for layovers.

It's a shame the final leg from Berlin to Tromso was so long in as much as you could have flown to Australia in the time it took to travel by bus. But I suppose that would have limited the choice of routes from the competitors, and then it would turn into Race Across Canada with everyone on the same train at the end.

So sorry that Billy and Bonnie had to pull out. They were lovely young people.
I didn't really mind who won. I found it a bit tedious with Harry constantly telling his mum to hurry up. Mel and Helene grew on me as the journey progressed bit still wasn't that keen on Alex although it was kind of him not to compete with B and B when Billy was in pain.

I want to go on that Arctic bus - as long as it has the same driver!

Lots of places I'd like to visit. Think I need to persuade my son to do our own version of RATW.

I was incredibly gutted about Billy & Bonnie, I absolutely loved them.

I was rooting for any pair but Harry & Emma to win.

Yes, have to agree. Liked his dad but couldn't take to Alex much so didn't want him to win. Once B&B were out I was rooting for Harry & Emma.

There didn't seem to be any mention of winning for charity. Were the slebs just paid to have an adventure?

I was thinking today, it's interesting that Mel and Helene splashed out on the expensive train fares and taxis on all legs of the trip, where the others saved with cheaper options, yet they all got to the end at much the same time.
Mel saying they had €1 left (though I still don't think they had enough for the cable car). But the others taking the cheaper routes doesn't seem to have mattered much after all. Both Alex and his dad, and Mel and her mum, both managed a taxi right at the end.
Perhaps Mel and Helene found the higher-paying jobs along the way and that balanced things out.

I would like a full spreadsheet analysis of the trip costs by group, by leg, by mode of transport etc! And the costs of the fabulous hotels they got to spend 36 hours in.. Zermatt is not cheap and that Hotel in Berlin looked beautiful!

Agree with PPs that Mel said she had 25 euros left. Then said 20 euros on taxi. Then after cable car she said she had 1 euro left
That would account how they got up there

I remember in the first Race Across the World when the final point was on the top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel one of the the teams didn't have any money left to pay for the lift to the top. I can't remember exactly what happened but it showed them running around asking to borrow money (I think it was relatively cheap) or they talked someone into letting them go up for free (and pay later). Not sure either way but they did get to the top but they were in the running to win at one point (or that's how it was presented). They certainly weren't last.

Live everyone else not keen on Princess Alex but loved his Dad. His Dad was even sobbing when he read that Bonnie & Billy had gone. Rather unfairly, possibly, I thought Alex was probably thinking that they'd got a better chance of winning now! 😂😂😂

It was so nice to have a reality show with a distinct lack of divas. Most of them getting on with it was really fun to watch.

Which is still a lot. Even in Norway!!!

Just seen episode 2. Really enjoying it and liking all of them. But I really hope there's less of Mel going on about herself.
Also I thing it's cheating when they take money off people, like Mel and her mum did And tacky.

Just watched and annoyed Harry and his lovely mum didn’t win , wasn’t keen on Alex at all, him going on about his “ media career “ he’s a bit of a diva imho
However I can’t work out how Mel and her mum seemed to throw money at taxis and cabins on trains to sleep, the rest seemed to have it worse yet they turned up just minutes after the others! Also no mention of charity money which I thought it was for ?

I think we all just assumed the winner would get money for charity cos that's what normally happens with celebrity programmes.
