It's so much more enjoyable than the Canadian which just seemed to consist of waiting at Petrol stations to cadge lifts from people. Although I did think Canada was beautiful.
They've been to some lovely places on this trip and it's been good that there were different choices of routes they could take, It got a bit boring in the last one when they kept meeting up or passing each other as there wasn't the choice.

I also assumed the jobs are just made up for the purpose of the programme. I can't imagine many genuine employers will let you just turn up (or not) and work a few hours then leave again. And they are given a list of jobs in a little book, with no phone to call and arrange/confirm it, so the jobs must be held open only for the celebrities.

I’m sure one couple in the second series did manage to find an actual job i.e. one that wasn’t in the book, but I can’t remember what country that was in

Jen and Rob (series 2) found one in a hostel by just walking about asking. And Jo and Sam got a free bus ride for one by asking at the station and then cleaning the coach en route. Also series 2.

BoredAuditor · 20/10/2023 13:56

Can't remember the country though...

They shouldn't be on tourist visas anyway should they? They're working for the BBC/Studio Lambert.

There are also the other series that have been done.

Interesting - what is the purpose of your visit to this country?

Can you imagine say a celebrity from say Mali doing this in the UK and "working"

purpleme12 · 20/10/2023 22:24

Emma: I thought we'd left the racing behind 🙈

SabrinaThwaite · 21/10/2023 01:48

I wonder if they get to use performer / artist / cultural type exemptions for countries where there isn’t an allowance for short periods of work?

eg Norway allows artists to work for up to 14 days in a year without requiring a permit.

I agree that the shoe memorial in Hungary was a very poignant moment.
I'm impressed by the size of the sausages served to Alex and Noel, though , - I thought that'll keep them going!
Plus, each time - how does Bonny look so well groomed?! Hair, make up, eyelashes, nails..she looks like she's travelled by limousine!

TokyoSushi · 21/10/2023 09:36

I have loved this series, I have loved all the others (with the slight exception of Canada) it really is one of my favourite shows! B&B to win now for me!

Walkingtheplank · 22/10/2023 00:58

I think Bonnie is a make up artist so knows all tricks to look good. Great skin and straight hair help too.

miniproblem · 22/10/2023 21:00

I didn't really know anything about Harry before this programme but I think he's such an arrogant prick. I've really grown to dislike him.

GuffyTheDustBuster · 22/10/2023 21:40

Agree this is an improvement on the Canadian one. Canadians are too nice 😁

Also educational- as we went to Bilbao the other weekend...and decided to get our bus tickets to San Sebastian asap rather than rocking up on the day having seen so many on RATW fall foul of 'sorry that bus is full- next one is tomorrow evening' and it was a darn good job we did as buses were rammed!

goodkidsmaadhouse · 24/10/2023 22:26

My people! Also Team B & B. They’re a world apart from the sibling pair in series 2 (Dom & ?) who were constantly bickering and the sister wasn’t great about Dom’s health issues. For those worrying about Billy’s legs, it said in that series that every pair has a medic with them.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 25/10/2023 21:04

Oh no!!!

cakeorwine · 25/10/2023 21:05

Oh.

HoHoHoliday · 25/10/2023 21:05

Oh Billy and Bonnie 😢

Halsall · 25/10/2023 21:05

Gosh😳

rockingbird · 25/10/2023 21:05

Omg!! I'm crying already 😢 they were my winners

JayAlfredPrufrock · 25/10/2023 21:05

That’s a shame.

Roundaboot · 25/10/2023 21:06

Gutted! Poor Billy and Bonny! They so deserved to win.
Really not sure who I am rooting for now😥

Nottheeightoutoftencats · 25/10/2023 21:06

Gutted for B&B.

jay55 · 25/10/2023 21:06

How sad for them. Nice they lead before going.

Halsall · 25/10/2023 21:06

Noel is quite upset

marypoppinsreturns · 25/10/2023 21:06

Oh no, poor Billy and Bonnie.

SwedishEdith · 25/10/2023 21:07

Oh no! Lovely Noel getting upset as well. Wonder if they'll fly them to Tromsø at the end? Presumably need to go to a funeral but not a parent death or something.
