ER - why could they never let Carter be happy. SPOILERS

SPOILERS I’m rewatching ER for the billionth time. I need a portable c spine, Chem 7 and an intubation kit.

Why could Carter never be allowed to be happy?!
Why did they let Mark die (sob).
Poor Carter.
I have an irrational dislike of Thandie Newton because she (I know she didn’t really) broke his heart and he never found love again.
I’ve got to series 10 so it will start to get rubbish soon.

Benton was still with Cleo in the finale, he said Rhys was at home with her. Never get bored of rewatching, I have them all on DVD.

I am rewatching this at the moment- 2 seasons to go. I wasn't a Luka fan. I thought Carter and Kem were still together at the end? So many amazing characters.

That series was way ahead of its time. I watched it when it first came out and then watched it again about a year ago. So well written and acted. I think the writer had been an A&E doctor.

God I remember searching the internet for US spoilers for that series, setting the VCR as it was on the night I was a pot washer and might not make it home in time…

Me too! I never told the friend I went with that was why I suggested we go to Chicago. She wasn't an ER watcher.

I still miss the anticipation of waiting for this week's episode of ER.

Hmm I liked the Lucy time season 5/6, and when Abby was a nurse (did not understand her affair), and when Mark and Elizabeth were happy.
In think carter still was hopeful for Kem at the end. She seemed distant though.

I loved it the first time around and rewatched the whole thing a few years ago. On the second watch I realised that Carter really was the heart of the programme. Totally agree that thandie newton character was awful and not right for him. I have never watched anything with thandie Newton in it from that day to this and that will be the case until I die.
