So we have S3?

AuntieEsther · 18/01/2024 07:50

She probably was fired over her Palestine views TBH but she should have gone because the character was shit. Shame AJLT didn't have the self reflection to cancel the character when it was clear nobody wanted her, even the wokies

Ridemeginger · 18/01/2024 08:00

@Netaporter Oh I am so pleased Plaza Suite was awesome and that you had a great night! I'm so looking forward to seeing it in a couple of weeks' time. We have friends flying in and family coming down to see it with us, it's good to know that all the planning will be worth it!

Also great news about Che being given the heave ho. I really don't like cancellation culture wrt actors, even for political stances I find idiotic; but as pp have said, her character really was a piece of intelligence insulting crap. So bring on Season 3! Let's just hope Miranda doesn't enter an equally irritating and character destroying relationship - replacing Che with Che 2.0 is not off the cards!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2024 08:22

Che May have been good if wasn't put with Miranda

That just seemed wrong

Lottapianos · 18/01/2024 08:26

I will miss Sara Ramirez and her beautiful face, and she did a great job with a truly awful character. So glad to see the back of Che

Im going to see Plaza Suite in a few weeks and I'm so excited!!!

Netaporter · 18/01/2024 09:00

Ooh have fun @Lottapianos!

I think the DM article was a bit tongue in cheek. Very obviously it was the political stance, Che was hated since the start so it is rather disingenuous to suggest they were now listening to the audience… I think now SM is a big part of the audience participation, they were also not used to the backlash so Sara Ramirez provided the perfect excuse for them to ditch the character, but I don’t think without that own-goal they would have. Previously they’d had terrible characters (Berger anyone?) Who they could indulge in without really knowing that the audience thought. Not the case now.

I’d like Carrie to have another go with the mayoral candidate played by John Slattery. I lufs him.

Lottapianos · 18/01/2024 09:15

'Previously they’d had terrible characters (Berger anyone?)'

Oh he was truly awful. A bit like Che actually - unpredictable, self absorbed and unbearably unfunny

Ridemeginger · 18/01/2024 09:16

He was completely gorgeous! Shame he was a wee perve!

Ridemeginger · 18/01/2024 09:18

See, I have banged on about this before, but I would love a Berger episode. Carrie never got closure with him, one minute they were apparently in love, the next, never seeing each other again, and we saw no emotional fall out on the part of Carrie. I found that very unrealistic. Even if they meet and she realised what a nob he was would be good. I'd also like to know if he ever wrote his second book and got a publisher again.

EachandEveryone · 18/01/2024 09:24

Anyone going to see SJP and Mathew Broderick in their new play? I’m looking forward to it

Netaporter · 18/01/2024 09:30

@EachandEveryone read upthread… 😂

I went to the opening last night. It was awesome.

Ridemeginger · 18/01/2024 09:30

Yes, see up thread. @Netaporter saw it last night and @Lottapianos and I are seeing it in a few weeks' time. Also very much looking forward to it!

tribpot · 18/01/2024 09:45

Yes it would be good to have closure with Berger. We never really knew what he meant when he wrote the infamous post-it note. He was a good character until he completely freaked out about criticism of his book - unlike Carrie, who merely stalked Nina Katz all over Manhattan because her rave review in the New York Times mentioned she treated men as disposable 🙄But he was a welcome change from the appallingness of Big.

I don't agree with firing Sara Ramirez over a pro-Palestine stance (esp since Nixon seems to have indicated the same?) but am still extremely glad to see the back of Che, if this rumour is true. It would be very much in keeping with Che's character if Ramirez made out the lack of popularity had a political cause rather than a 'pain in the arse' cause. (Although they seem to be throwing some shade on Che as performative in the NY Post article?)

DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy · 18/01/2024 09:45

Pleeeease post a review!! I would love to see it!
Also, I read Sara Ramirez has been dropped from the next series?

DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy · 18/01/2024 09:46

Oops sorry did not engage brain before posting Confused

I read this with a Scottish accent before I twigged and got what you meant Grin

Ridemeginger · 18/01/2024 10:05

@WhyDoesItAlways

😂😂😂

I guess it could work both ways!

Carrie would be scolded for kink shaming today, probably by her friend, Che and that other bloke from the podcast with the Dunelm dress wife.

I'm off to see Plaza Suite tomorrow, can't wait! Did you go to the stage door?

I wanted to, but sooooo expensive!

Glad to see the back of Che, but not happy that Sarah has been fired for her political stance. I hope we see the back of Aiden too. I really hope they all have proper jobs in S 3.

Netaporter · 18/01/2024 10:41

@REP22 i didn’t - mainly because I was smashed on the champagne package I’d bought me and DH. He didn’t drink his, so it seemed a waste 😂 I am regretting my life choices this morning I can tell you 😂

Hehe, bad luck. 😆Glad you enjoyed the play though! x

UglyModernWindows · 18/01/2024 11:51

Just came to say big thanks to whoever it was (I think it may have been Netaporter?) who said here SJP and MB are running a show in London. I would have never known otherwise! I promptly booked the tickets which are not on until March. Very much looking forward to it!

I’m in team Berger, would love to have him to re-apper.

And yey 💥 for Che given the boot!! Bye!

Mistressofnone · 18/01/2024 12:01

I agree I actually kind of liked Berger and that storyline - "nice hat" - gets me every time!

His new series Loudermilk on Netflix getting rave reviews too. Next on our watchlist.

Would like to see Berger and Trey make an appearance next series.

Lottapianos · 18/01/2024 12:29

'I’d like Carrie to have another go with the mayoral candidate played by John Slattery. I lufs him.'

Oh yes, he was yum, apart from the weeing. Hes even more yum in Mad Men

I hadn't even considered going to the stage door after Plaza Suite. We're going to a matinee, do you think they would do stage door after an afternoon show? There's a good chance I would embarrass myself if I ever met SJP though so maybe best avoided 😁
