Chat away to your heart’s content about invisible quads, terrible children’s clothing designs that are apparently groundbreaking, Stephen’s bizarre whispering and much more!

Doesn't Billy have any family at all? Parents, siblings, even cousins, not a sniff of a relative at the wedding.

Helendegenerate · 04/10/2023 10:05

@Deadringer

That's an interesting one. Perhaps the writers are saving never before mentioned Billy relatives for future storylines.

😐😴

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/10/2023 11:49

Doesn't he a brother called Lee.

Heliotroper · 04/10/2023 12:19

He does have a brother called Lee, last seen when he was on heroin.

eggandonion · 04/10/2023 12:30

Relations never attend births deaths or marriages unless they live on Coronation Street.
Did Toyah go away with Spider? Or is she running the invisible creche?

Heliotroper · 04/10/2023 15:25

So what happened to Eliza's social worker? Has she just shrugged off and told them to sort it out for themselves.

Helendegenerate · 04/10/2023 15:52

I have Classic Corrie on auto record but don't often get round to watching it. This afternoon I caught the last half of the one with Rita, Emily, Norris and Roy in the cafe having a meeting with the vicar. They were eating Vera's special chocolate brownies and she must have laced them with alcohol. They were half cut and it was proper Corrie humour. Ten times better than today's rubbish.

eggandonion · 04/10/2023 16:35

Veras special brownies were very special indeed.

thenightsky · 04/10/2023 17:45

Who is the lad with the sticky out ears who accompanied Liam to hospital?

Heliotroper · 04/10/2023 17:55

Dylan

Sean's son

AutumnCrow · 04/10/2023 18:06

I thought the actor who played the Bishop was decent enough, but I really wanted it to be Brian Blessed (he'd do it for a donation to his animal sanctuary, I reckon).

'Billy, my boy', he would boom, 'you have let affairs of the heart blind you to canon law. Keep it in the vestry closet!' and they'd hear it as far away as the precinct and up in the hitherto unheard of Robeson Estate.

QuintessentiallyScottish · 04/10/2023 18:12

Every time I see Dylan I think he's got the look for appearing in a 1960s kitchen sink film.

Oh yes definitely, like a young Phil Davis. I remember PD was in a gritty TV play called 'Gotcha' which was about a disaffected lad who took two teachers hostage on the last day of school. (In 1977 apparently - just looked it up! Crikey I'm old.)

Dylan could do something like that.

eggandonion · 04/10/2023 19:02

Brian Blessed would be excellent. Im Not interested in billys plight.

They were laced with something, but it certainly wasn't alcohol. More likely the "tomato plants" Maz was growing in Jack's greenhouse! 😂

@TheFifthTellytubby

Ah yes! It's all coming back to me now. The four stoners and the vicar! Hilarious stuff of yesteryear. Was Terry Duckworth responsible for the "tomato plants" 😋

Can't remember who Maz was 😏

Edited

Maz was Tyrone's crush who had an allotment next to Jack's and used Jack's greenhouse to grow "vegetables" in. The dodgy plants were nowt to do with "our Turreh" for once!

Helendegenerate · 04/10/2023 19:34

@TheFifthTellytubby

Turreh
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

nildesparandum · 04/10/2023 20:06

I have said this before on this site I am sure, Billy is the next Archbishop of Canterbury.He will continue to live in Coronation Street of course with his boyfriend(s), wander around with his hands in his pockets wearing that permanent stupid grin, and pop up the bar in the Rovers.Popping out of it to officiate at the next royal family christening/wedding/funeral etc.

Jitterybugs · 04/10/2023 20:45

Did Stephen really just say “ you go home and get into your slippers and I’ll swing by the kebab shop? 🤣🤣

DerekFaker · 04/10/2023 20:58

Oh ffs!!! The coincidences!

And that flashback 😂

eggandonion · 04/10/2023 21:02

I wish my husband would buy me kebabs and cheesy chips. As soon as I see a chippy tea im starving.

One of our vicars did start a breakaway church because as a Christian (mindful of Bible's teachings) he felt unable to marry gay couples, although was happy to give a blessing. It's not my view but I know a few Christians who feel like this. Corrie wouldn't dream of criticising Islam or other religions but Christianity is such an easy target.

Yes Christianity is always fair game I really don’t like this storyline feels far to much an ‘agenda’.

greengreengrass25 · 04/10/2023 22:05

Nor do I

And it's not nuanced enough
