Chat away to your heart’s content about invisible quads, terrible children’s clothing designs that are apparently groundbreaking, Stephen’s bizarre whispering and much more!

I’m sure we’ve had the same storyline before, random lad stealing a car ( from Kevin’s garage ?) and randomly drove it around and hit someone or did some damage. Or am I imagining it?

Iwantacampervan · 03/10/2023 07:36

@Andthereyougo Yes, it was Aiden Critchley who stole Ken's car - fairly recently on Classic Corrie. He was in it as a character unlike this random lad (who seems to be older than Dylan & Liam).

Helendegenerate · 03/10/2023 09:58

Watching the wedding of the year was bad enough once but they did it again and it was the biggest cringe I've seen for a long time. Billy's throaty voice and perv face when going in for yet another kiss not to mention the unrealistic situation of a dodgy vicar mate and the church ceremony, vom vom and thrice vom.

I do agree about Paul though. He's doing a great acting job and imo he's the only cast member who deserves an award.

eggandonion · 03/10/2023 10:45

At least they got married unlike a lot of corrie weddings. Billy could have been given a chronic health condition and Paul become his minder. Paul reminds me of our builder who always answered the phone with Aw rite?

Heliotroper · 03/10/2023 12:20

Cars are always going missing from the garage. I think Abi and Dean the Drug Dealer stole the last one

Well now we know why Summer had the weird 'polaroid' camera, but why did we get the strange close up of Stu's Stew?

I think it was to showcase that Aliha? Knew how to taste test a dish properly without contaminating it by using a separate spoon for the task.
Dont get me started on Tyrone ironing overalls, never ever have I ironed a pair of DH’s, washed plenty but ironing.. never. Just think of the transferred grease and oil onto the ironing board cover from the heat of the iron.

eggandonion · 03/10/2023 20:14

Tyrone always looks spotless. Kevin looks grubby even if he is in the bistro.
Billy...how will he escape the long arm of church law?

greengreengrass25 · 03/10/2023 20:19

It's absolutely absurd

Does Billy even have any churches he looks after,or events to attend

He never seems to have anything to do in the church

JewelleryCat · 03/10/2023 20:20

I don’t see what Billy and Paul did wrong. Yes, they said their vows in front of God but they were already married in the civil ceremony at the Bistro so surely no rules were broken

Heliotroper · 03/10/2023 21:13

Billy does chuff all

Nobody will even know he is suspended

Heliotroper · 03/10/2023 21:18

The church warden does not look happy

My grandmother would have said "He has an easier job than a poliss(local name for a policeman) in a park"
My father, a catholic turned atheist, would say "Priests only work on a Sunday"

greengreengrass25 · 03/10/2023 21:42

He does man the soup kitchen when the plot line depends on it

It does make a mockery of the church. Billy seems to be leading 2 separate lives

Clawdy · 03/10/2023 22:00

Couldn't they have arranged marriage in a local Methodist Church? That would have been allowed.

EachandEveryone · 03/10/2023 22:09

Does Eliza’s mum not have any say in whether she lives with her dad or not?

Heliotroper · 03/10/2023 22:10

The CofE does not approve of their clergy being in same sex marriages wherever the wedding takes place.

Have all the homophobes on his flock just realised he is Gay ?

eggandonion · 03/10/2023 23:25

How would they have recognised Billy? He doesn't seem to vicar or archdeacon much? Is the officiating vicar being sacked too?
They could start a small breakaway church.

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 03/10/2023 23:34

One of Billy's jobs as archdeacon is to make sure canon law is being followed. So he's broken it by having a wedding/blessing in church. Which isn't allowed in the CofE. Although I don't actually know anyone within the CofE who is against it.

AutumnCrow · 03/10/2023 23:35

Maybe Gemma can write to King Charles III in his role as FeeDee Defensee and get him to sort it, while Bernie tackles Justin Welby outside the posh tea-shop in Canterbury.

eggandonion · 03/10/2023 23:40

Canterbury wasn't as posh as I imagined it would be.

lollipoprainbow · 04/10/2023 06:19

Stupid soppy summer ergh she's so irritating !!

Heliotroper · 04/10/2023 07:37

Billy may not spend much time among his flock but nobody is gonna forget that beard

One of our vicars did start a breakaway church because as a Christian (mindful of Bible's teachings) he felt unable to marry gay couples, although was happy to give a blessing. It's not my view but I know a few Christians who feel like this. Corrie wouldn't dream of criticising Islam or other religions but Christianity is such an easy target.

Heliotroper · 04/10/2023 07:59

Billy could start a breakaway church where it is OK to kill people then lie about it forever.

Mum seems to have completely disappeared! Dad was never mentioned when Stu first found his family.
