Literally just watched the final episode today and well....what can I say? Clearly I'm late to the party, but my colleague was pushing and pushing saying it was so good, and damn it she was right.

I found the first few episodes a challenge, but I'm glad I kept going (for fear of the colleague nagging me more!)

It has so much heart. And it's just so wonderful. And I'm really glad they didn't chase the ££££ and keep going til it got schitt.

Omg one of my favourite shows ever!

A friend recommended we stick with it the first few episodes and she was so right. It sort of grows on you and then you becombe so attached to them all.

Saved our lock down. I love them all.

HermioneWeasley · 11/08/2023 21:31

It’s tremendous. They way they all grow and develop except Moira who just doubles down on being her.

I nearly had an asthma attack at “a little bit alexis” and the crows have eyes nest scene. Just glorious.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 11/08/2023 21:36

Moira was the one who nearly made me stop watching - but actually, once I accepted that she is just playing some multi millionaire eccentric Hollywood type, I just got on board.

My internal monologue is sounding very Moira at the moment.

Have you watched the little documentary OP? DH and I both cried!

toomuchlaundry · 11/08/2023 21:38

Got us through lockdown too

DontBeAPrickDarren · 11/08/2023 21:39

“Fold the cheese” always makes me laugh 😁

I love Moira, funny to think she was the mum in Home Alone. Love that her fabulous character embraces being an older woman.

And we always say "bebe" in our household now 😁

toomuchlaundry · 11/08/2023 21:43

Simply the Best

Me too. Even thinking of it now is making me chuckle.

@DontBeAPrickDarren I didn't know there was a documentary. What's it called?

rowantree1997 · 11/08/2023 21:44

I'm obsessed with it - my kids are embarrassed because I keep telling everyone to watch it.

I agree about the first few episodes and had to try a couple of tines before I was hooked.

If I ever get invited to a fancy dress party I'm going as Moira in pyjamas with a waistcoat and brooch 😂

rileynexttime · 11/08/2023 21:48

Yes, good . And 3 main characters related
Eugene Levy as Johnny Rose
Daniel Levy as David Rose,
Sarah Levy as Twyla Sands,
Eugene is DANIEL and Sarah 'S dad.

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 11/08/2023 21:48

I'm rewatching and finding it slower going in series 4 (the start of the Patrick episodes), the pauses between everyone's utterances (David/Stevie/Alexis) get a bit much. But I love love love this show.

Twyla is another Levy so Dan Levy's sister and Eugene's daughter! She looks like David so much facially but with different make up and hair. It's so obvious when you can see it but fantastically managed in the series, Dan and Sarah are never in the same shot.

toomuchlaundry · 11/08/2023 21:49

@kernowpicklepie it’s called Best Wishes, Warm Regards A Schitt’s Creek Farewell

toomuchlaundry · 11/08/2023 21:50

Hadn’t realised they were never in the same shot @Theredfoxfliesatmidnight

Oh I don't know if that's an actual series fact, I've just watched it a lot and don't remember any scenes when they are one on one in a clear shot together x

toomuchlaundry · 11/08/2023 21:53

Might have to watch it again to check 😂

Exactly this.

It's the ultimate slow burn, isn't it? I'm on season 6 & pacing myself - it took me at least 4 tries to get into it.

There are some amazingly sweet moments this season.

Completely unintentionally I keep saying 'bebe' to my kids & affecting a Moira-style intonation & emphasis. I sound nuts.

No!!! Was she?! That's incredible. I must go & look now.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/08/2023 22:40

I love how Eugene Levy plays his part so 'straight' to offset the exaggerated flounces of his family.

Stevie irritated me quite a bit, until season 5.

It's funny actually, a lot of episodes I didn't find great, but it's like cumulatively I fell in love with them.

Moira is amazing though. Love. Her.

DontBeAPrickDarren · 11/08/2023 22:53

Moira was the queen of our lockdown. We also use “Bebe” in this house 😁 daayvud!

minou123 · 11/08/2023 23:01

Schitts Creek is the best.

I was hooked from episode 1.
It's the bit when they get to the motel and David and Alexis are arguing about who gets which bed.
"No! its your turn to get murdered first"
😁

OHVanessaShanessaJenkins · 11/08/2023 23:11

Well today I told a work Colleague that I am positively bedevilled with meetings etcetera..

And we have bebes chamber in our house.

I only know two other people who have watched and loved this series. We speak Schitts creek in all correspondence. It is such fun! 😃

OnionBhajis · 12/08/2023 08:31

Oh I loved Early Stevie! She was my favourite (a voice of reason!) but then her part dwindled a bit.

And the awful mayor and his wife - but then you realise you've come to like them!!!

And the whole family are so privilidged and rude - again thought they were fairly unlikeable early on.... and the episode later on where they have lunch with some old friends and instead of rating against the town like the friends do they defend it- was magical .
