Literally just watched the final episode today and well....what can I say? Clearly I'm late to the party, but my colleague was pushing and pushing saying it was so good, and damn it she was right.

I found the first few episodes a challenge, but I'm glad I kept going (for fear of the colleague nagging me more!)

It has so much heart. And it's just so wonderful. And I'm really glad they didn't chase the ££££ and keep going til it got schitt.

I wasn’t a fan of the mayor and his wife. But when they bump into friends at the restaurant. And the friends make fun of the town. I had tears in my eyes when he defended them about how they didn’t have much but gave anyway. Oh my. Loved them from then on.

Vicliz24 · 15/08/2023 08:25

I've only just started watching it but it's exquisite. The level of awkwardness in every scene is just perfect

Jitterybugs · 15/08/2023 08:26

I almost didn’t go back to it after episode 1 but by the end of episode 2 I was on a binge of 2 or 3 a night. I absolutely loved it. I’ve been thinking about it recently and plan to watch it all again.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 15/08/2023 08:26

I loved this show and miss David Rose - l feel like he was my friend!!

Can't understand people who didn't enjoy it!!

CaptainMyCaptain · 15/08/2023 08:27

I hated all the characters in the first episode but a friend persuaded me to persevere and she was right. I ended up loving them all and was so sad when it finished.

Is it weird that I fancy David and Patrick AND Stevie (Heterosexual married woman here)? I am also endeavouring to utilise Moira's extensive lexicon in my day to day social intercourse.

CaptainMyCaptain · 15/08/2023 08:28

I'm watching for the second time because my husband missed Series 1 the first time round.

OnionBhajis · 15/08/2023 08:29

Yes it's definitely a "persevere past first couple of episodes " series but they really set the scene for the characters.

Beautiful series 🥰.
Yes to "don't worry it's his sister " 😂.

OnionBhajis · 15/08/2023 08:31

I've just seen the kids film "teenage kracken" and it's got "Alexis" complete as Alexis in there as the mermaid with occasional hand gestures too.

theluckiest · 15/08/2023 08:35

I adored it. It really does get its hooks into you and then won't let you go.

The documentary is brilliant too..everyone seems to be having such a great time. I've loved Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara for years - they've worked together on loads of projects and I think that warmth really comes across.

I adored Stevie finding her confidence in Cabaret too.

cushioncovers · 15/08/2023 11:34

So many funny awkward sweet moments in it I cant possibly pick out a favourite

stonkytonk11 · 15/08/2023 12:35

Yes! When David ran away and Moira was more concerned about her bag 🤣 And Cabaret was spectacular, watching Stevie grow into her role on the stage. I also loved the bit where Johnny put the plaque on the garden for Moira and it had his credit card number on it by mistake 🤣

The plaque on the garden is hilarious

The Moira's Rose's Garden 4856

The credit card numbers are brilliant, but also the misuse of all the apostrophes.

The Moira’s Rose’s Garden. So the garden is dedicated to a rose that Moira owns?
😁

“Fussy little fucker” is legendary in our house 😂

EnjoyingTheSilence · 16/08/2023 22:39

Love love love SC, truly the best tv show ever.

Dd is watching it again and I get tell as she has all the Alexisisms going on with her hands and facial expressions 🤣

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/08/2023 00:18

I just love "Simply the Best" running through it too.

I'd watched the Barboe movie before I started Schitts Creek, so when Patrick brought out the guitar I was like "here we go, fucking men and their twatting guitars" but actually it was really beautiful.

Then, David's miming to it in a later episode I just sobbed. So beautiful. I read somewhere they didn't even do a chemistry/screen test of the two actors together before they cast "Patrick" and they've got chemistry that makes you forget you are watching two actors.

Patrick's version of Simply the Best was so beautiful it gave me goose bumps.
