One of the many mysteries of SATC2, is why Abu Dhabi agreed to have its name dragged through the mud, and their citizens portrayed in such an awful manner. I'm not defending AD (which has an awful human rights record and deserves to be criticised), I just don't know why they would go along with it. I guess there was a bit of woke washing of women's rights - they wear designer gear under their oppressive outer garments, so that's ok. But then the state will turn on Western women stepping out of the lines laid down by local men - and that's good advertising how?
Miranda's cringe worthy transformation began in this film with her "Interfrentions". Kim Catrall must have felt humiliated by some of her scenes, especially the one with the condoms in the square surrounded by local men. Samantha, the mistress of public relations and understanding her surroundings, would never have created a situation where she was being arrested for sex crimes. Charlotte was once again made the fool and the butt of Carrie being a bitch (first the pooing herself in SATC1, then the camel toe nonsense in this film). The romanticisation of Indian labourers who get stuck in these states far away from family, and sometimes never getting out because their human rights are practically non existent. It's all so lousy, a turd of a film, wrapped up in cheap, nasty rhinestones.
