Fizzy I'm hoping Feli is a 'TBA'.

I read earlier something that I thought might be an issue when it was first announced- but Rafa's possible plans to retire in Paris/the Olympics could come unstuck, since he won't qualify as of right (not just rankings, but players have to have played for their country during the qualifying period, and he hasn't).
On the main tour, he would probably have a protected ranking, but I don't think that would count for the Olympics.

Jane I'm glad Goffin got one- his match against Tiafoe last year, which went on for hours, was one of the highlights of Wimbledon for me. One of those 'I really want them both to win' times - it was a great match to watch.

I was thinking that would have been a nice way for him to retire without quite as much pressure as a GS but in Paris - I think I heard that Alcaraz would be interested in playing doubles with Rafa at the Olympics - that would be amazing! Hopefully someone can pull a few strings

Fizzy I remember a few years back, it might have been Berdych- but he wasn't sure if he would be eligible to play the Olympics because only a certain number per country are allowed (by ranking) and they have to have played in a team/ national competition. So I did wonder- since by next year Rafa will be out of the rankings altogether- what might happen.

it would be great if Carlos and Rafa played doubles (Rafa already has a doubles gold with Marc Lopez).

Well done Lorenzo- and Ben did really well, considering he's never really played on grass.

Oh I missed the mascot! I’m still slightly disturbed by the music at the change of ends (they’d better not do that at Wimbledon!)

Most of the new tennis players seem like very nice young men

Lorenzo is very sweet - they seem very mature for their years - especially considering some of them aren’t speaking their first language (God I sound like an old woman )

I agree ,Fizzy I don't want music at Wimbledon (but they are always several years behind the times, so we should be safe ).

Also, yes, the younger players on the whole all seem really mature and very confident in interviews. I do like Musetti.

I'm disappointed it's not Mo umpiring- I really wanted him to announce 'The Tache' in a big booming voice. I would have been very happy with that.

Kevin Curran- that's a blast from the past. Saw him play Edberg in the finals at Didsbury in 87 and 88.

(they filmed him for the 'mystery guest' spot for QoS when I was there).

And - probably no for the only time this match- we get AC with 'the history of Cam Norrie'

If he commentates on the next Cam match, he will say all the same things!

Well, the qualifiers were one of the things that used to get shown on the red button. But whether they will be this year I don't know now.

And there's no point asking Andrew, he clearly hasn't got a clue about anything.

Jane there's probably a BBC commentary team WhatsApp group. That he isn't part of.
