Jeez stop showing us next week bad dresses

Fuck me, that was a nightmare of a GOTW. I'm sad to see Tony W go.

I was just about to say I'm getting really annoyed with them giving away too much of the following week

No, I want to be surprised next week! I'm not keen on children's week but at least it's a return to some sort of normality.

Well yippee, looks like proper sewing next week, what a treat.

Have a good week all. I am off to see the Berthe Morisot exhibition tomorrow to mend my eyes with proper art.

What a sweet, modest bloke Tony W is. Sad he's gone but hope this has been a confidence boost for him.

I liked Tony W and liked his dress. I thought the GOTW was boring

That wasn't my favourite week, but it benefitted the stronger sewers.

And I loved Asmah's top.

Vicky did get lucky this week. I don't think she will be around much longer. She also gets very little airtime

I hated the dress of the week. The judges taste is so weird.
Tony w dress - the sleeves really needed to be longer with an attachment to the models' hand to keep them in place. They were only nice about it because they knew he was leaving.

Definitely. I had the other Tony as a prospective finalist. Vicki was terrible too. Her transformation should have been last placed.

I really miss when they focused on skills with different types of fabric too. The show is beginning to feel like Netflix series next in fashion rather than the bee.

This week just felt odd to me. I think Lauren was robbed , her m2m fit the brief perfectly and was also very current.

I couldn't watch (no TV) but it sounds dreadful. I want to see proper sewing.

Tony looked so miserable throughout! He knew they wouldn't like his designs but he did them anyway. Poor guy looked on the verge of tears whenever the judges spoke.

Timed challenges just don't suit his creative style. He was the right choice to leave, it was stressful watching him.

And that hideous biker dress looked like a Party Shop Bonnie Tyler outfit. Absolutely dreadful.

This week was terrible. Thank goodness next week is back to actual sewing. GOTW was 80's hair rock wedding dress.

They seem to really like the episode on Facebook. Which is weird.

Spot on! I thought it was hideous and couldn't really see how it connected to the painting it was supposedly inspired by.

Looking forward to children's week. Always enjoy that.

I quite liked Fauve's dress. She stepped way out of her flowery comfort zone and deserves credit for that. I could see how it related to the painting.

I’d much rather they just did proper sewing rather than all the conversions and reimaginings . I’d like to know why Fauve , who is getting right on my nerves, wasn’t penalised more in the first round ( skirts) when she didn’t follow the brief about being abstract . The GOTW was awful and I think Vicki should have gone .

I'm a bit perplexed about Fauve's dress winning GotW. I couldn't see the connection to the brief at all. Shame about Tony W though. He just had a mare of a week and if he had been even slightly better it would have been bye bye Vicki instead.

I liked Matthew'sinterview - he was a lot less gender-rant has I expected (which suggests the Sewing Bee bits were heavily edited, or he was primed/ encouraged to be gender-y during the competition). He comes across as a lovely lad - the way he did in the very first episode of the series.
