Anyone else watching this new Catherine Tate show? There are 6 episodes of 30 mins each and it shows on BBC at 9.30pm on Fridays.

I've already watched the first 3 episodes on iplayer!

I just finished watching the 6th episode and have to say I really quite enjoyed the series. I only just found this thread and admit I'd totally forgotten her being sick in the first episode. But the series really did improve over time. I found it pretty funny and quite liked her in the end.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/07/2023 10:40

If it's been on tv it's fair game to talk about it

Don't read a thread if you haven't seen The programme

I thought her Comic Relief with Daniel Craig was amazing.

I saw Niky Wardley (quite a lot) in Jerusalem last year. she was great in that.

Finally got time to watch this on iPlayer. Have to TOTALLY!! agree with 99.999% of other people on this thread, it is absolutely appalling rubbish!! Meadowfly describes it really well - One of the worst things I’ve ever seen. The sort of thing young teens might do if they are doing role play in a drama lesson and one of them is a complete show-off who thinks she’s a good actress (guess who??). Catherine Tate isn’t even remotely as funny as she thinks she is, and has written a show in which her unpleasant character is the centre of every scene and everyone else just stands around watching her reading out the most unfunny boring lines you can possibly imagine! - way! way!! beyond awful!!!
The only funny thing I found was Teddy's mum Sylvie every time she jumped in shock at the most everyday things. Her acting was brilliant and really made me LOL!! every time! Sadly, that only made-up about 2 minutes in total of the entire 6 episodes, which were otherwise composed entirely of Catherine Tate screaming utter, completely boring, pre-juvenile, total, rubbish. Why on earth would the BBC show this??? Somebody watched it there before they screened it! and they obviously would have found it as atrocious as every single other person has! - Do you think we don't know utter and complete dross when we see it??? - Read the four pages of comments on here!!! - we're not the dumb Neanderthals you obviously think we are!! (although, I would imagine, even they would have clubbed the television to death after watching 5 minutes of this!)
Hopefully they learn and never broadcast total and utter cr@p like this ever again!!

Hiddendoor · 17/06/2025 09:24

@Dawn777 's review makes me want to watch it twice.

Dawn777 · 27/06/2025 01:50

@Hiddendoor Wow! You must really enjoy watching the cr@ppiest TV shows ever made, as, Queen of Oz, is, undoubtedly, the most rotten, steaming, pile of horse manure, I have ever had the misfortune to watch, in my entire life - please do enjoy this utter and total garbage! 😀
