I just watched it on sky plus and i cryed and cryed and cryed. Emilys baby died of cot death. It was so well acted and it made me think about if i lost my ds. Just even thinking about that makes my heart hurt so so much.

To any of you out there that has been through that i feel for you so much x

I dont watch emmerdalebut my best friend does and she had said to me this morning that she wasn't going to watch it as it would be really upsetting
her baby is nearly a year and it would have been horrid to watch

mad4mybaby · 21/02/2008 20:37

yeh my ds is 19 months. It really was the saddest thing ive watched

I deliberatly didn't watch tonight as i knew i would find it upsetting. I cant imagine losing a child.

mad4mybaby · 21/02/2008 20:46

the horrible thing is i can imagine it (in a wrong type of way) and it worrys me sick. My ds was quite ill for his first year. The thought now of anything happening to him just ... well i cant describe it. I really do feel so much for those parents that have been through it

I shouldn't have watched it, I really shouldn't have.
I have just had a lovely skin to skin bath with my 7 week old and couldn't imagine being without him.

mad4mybaby · 21/02/2008 20:51

hey ledodgy. that is so nice that you have experienced that with your dc. I wish i had been brave enough to do that with my ds when he was small..

can someone please tell me.. Is it abnormal to worry all the time about something happening to your dc? That they will somehow leave you? I feel like that every day. My ds is my life and i feel obsessed with him

cazboldy · 21/02/2008 20:55

truly the saddest thing i have ever watched

Ledodgy · 21/02/2008 20:56

It is like that with your first, they are all consuming. Especially if they have been quite ill at some point like your ds. As they grow you become able to let go a bit.

MegSophandEmma · 21/02/2008 21:00

mad4mybaby its so very normal. I have images of me falling with dd3 down the stairs and have had many horrid thought of things happening to my gilrs. I know of many mums who have the same images and worries.

I didn't watch it but my mum just rang me to ask if I had dd3s breathing detector monitor on. Glad I didn't watch it.

theboob · 21/02/2008 21:01

my eyes are still stinging,i hugged ds2 all the way through it and let him fall asleep on me (which i never do )really really sad

theboob · 21/02/2008 21:02

hello meggy

CheekymonkeysGreatestHits · 21/02/2008 21:03

Couldn't stop hugging DS while watching and gave him extra long storytime tonight
Can't imagine how anyone can cope after such a loss. Must say the acting was amazing and they should feel very proud of themselves.

MegSophandEmma · 21/02/2008 21:04

hiya booby xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Get some cucumbers on ur eyes madam u will end up with red sleepy eyes for tomoz night .

Peachy · 21/02/2008 21:05

The actress who played LAurel was very good- and i thought touches like the way viv had to get the twins home were very relaistic, that's exactly how I react to lost kids on the news, etc.

Sensitively done, I thought.

theboob · 21/02/2008 21:07

i know

twospecialgirls · 21/02/2008 21:07

i did put a post about this earlier and was told basically that i shouldnt have !!!

Nappyzone · 21/02/2008 21:08

I hadnt even seen a warning about it and havent watched emmerdale for yonks so watched it tonight expecting usual crap - bawled my eyes out and kept saying to my dh when they get the oxygen on him he will just start crying but he didnt - have put monitor back on for my 15 month old and will be like a panicking new mum again for the next week!

theboob · 21/02/2008 21:08

really?

theboob · 21/02/2008 21:10

nappyzone,i am doing the same thing

CheekymonkeysGreatestHits · 21/02/2008 21:10

It is a very sensitive subject but one that needs to be highlighted-not just for prevention but to help people who have been through this.

Nappyzone · 21/02/2008 21:11

I posted earlier about starting to remove his dummy tonight but cancelled all that.

twospecialgirls · 21/02/2008 21:12
