Unless there's a Simon storyline coming up he is little more than an extra these days. I feel a bit sorry for the lad. I wonder what they get paid if they only have one line every few weeks.

Why did Sean have to reappear with his ridiculous witterings about sniffing food - why couldn't he be in the van (along with most of the rest of the Street!)

I noticed that - twas very strange.

The acting is getting worse, last nights episode was like watching a local am dram production: clunky scene changes, the pub scene where the assembled Platts and Barlows waited for the big reveal that almost didn’t happen but eventually did.
The prison scenes with Max were the only ones with any credibility. The actor who plays Max wax brilliant last night. As was Shona.

I find it a bit odd how they have never developed the character. He does not interact with the other youngsters, he has never had a girlfriend, occasionally someone mentions he is at college but they do not discuss it like they do with Amy, let alone the extent that we had with Summer and he exams.

What is the point of him?

He is actually good with Lauren, they make a convincing couple.

Apparently Max and Lauren are a couple in real life!

Max and Shona are the best actors in the show, easily

Some soap couples have chemistry and obviously that would help!

Others can be on screen together for years and still not look the part e.g. Gary and Maria

The expressions on Max’s face when he realised he was being duped into lying for Lauren’s dad were so subtle yet powerful.

An actor having a real life child should have no bearing on his time in the soap. The majority of younger soap stars have husbands/wives/partners/children. I think it's just the writers haven't got around to finding Simon a suitable storyline. No doubt they will and it will be as ridiculous as the other ideas they come up with. 😎

I was cringing at some of the scenes and just how poorly they were acted and directed. Even those with established actors who can be good (Helen Worth, Bill Roach) were dreadful.

Is it the writing? The direction? The malaise/fatigue of cast? It was only the youngsters (Max) and Asha/Aadi who were believable.

It’s interesting reading thoughts on Max as a newbie to this thread. I follow the Corrie subreddit and he is LOATHED on there and often chastised for his acting skills. I personally think he’s fine.

Also, there’s a lot of Daisy love on there but I’m getting the impression she’s not thought of so fondly here?

I find Max to be really hit and miss. Mostly he's wooden and totally unbelievable, then occasionally he's amazing. Same with Shona and Nina.

What's going on with Beth and the way she's talking? She barely moves her mouth.

I like those two but they often get reduced to cameos on the cafe.

I cannot stand the mantra of Max being a good kid really. They completely indulge him, took him about two minutes to persuade them that Lauren was not the devil but should be staying in their house.

Gail who owns the place was not even asked.

Why does Max not have to work to support himself
