When I saw her and Mike kissing on this afternoon's Classic Corrie, I felt quite nauseous! Penny is young enough to be Mike's daughter, and it just makes me cringe! She is 25 years younger than him.

I can't get my head round it. She is 43-44, and he is nearly 70! 🤮 I could never imagine being with a man older than my dad. The thought of being with a 70 y.o. man when I was 43-44 would never have entered my head!

Fred is not much better. He is only 3 years younger than Mike! Why are these 67-70 year old men in romantic relationships with a woman in her early 40s? More to the point, why is SHE with them?!

It was jarring to hear Sarah ask whatshimname (Carl?) if he would consider getting back with Robbie while he's standing there with a black eye.

I thought she was older too but Classic soaps are seriously misogynistic, a middle aged woman who has inherited her (old) dead husbands business would need an (old) man to look after it for her. Let’s face it they only ever let women go with younger men if the woman is portrayed as a bit of a “slapper”. Apologies I don’t think that or think that’s acceptable to say about a woman but soaps and media at the time really pigeon holed women into those roles.

Oh Katie’s hair! I’m sure it was in red top papers like the sun at the time! I think they tried to make it edgy to make the actress seem less young because the storyline had fizzled and after the shock effect had worn off they were left with a middle aged man and a young teen in a grubby cliche story line.

That’s so true, I was thinking that yesterday, that there really is no storyline there at all for Martin and Katy at the mo. It’s gross really watching them in the pub together and she can’t even order a proper drink

I'd have been flattered in my mid 40s to have been hit on by a handsome 19-20 year old young man! I mostly got physically unappealing and often desperate-for-a-shag (usually married) men of around 50 to 60 hitting on me then! 😂
