I don’t recall these storylines (Gail and social services / Candice’s mum’s pervy bloke /Jason’s dodgy dad) at all. I was definitely watching though, because I clearly remember the Roy and Tracy story as well as Martin’s relationship with Katie.

I was reading earlier that Sean Wilson left in 2005 because the writers wanted his character to target an underage girl.

I am clearly one of the few on here who is enjoying the Roy and Tracy thing. They are so well acted, those characters. I think that the bet was in character for Tracy, as is the shady deal for the baby.

Same Deborah don’t remember Tony first time round at all, or the others or Les and Mick, but very clearly remember Martin and Katy, Roy and Tracey, and Peter/Lucy/Shelley.

I am the same with not remembering Mick, Jason’s dad and others through the years previously even though I watched at the time but I’m sure it’s because the bigger storylines stay in your memory more and are mentioned through the years. Also Tv programmes doing the ‘best soap villains’ or ‘best wedding drama’ countdowns keep the clips from the soap in our memories

Thank you! That all rings a bell. I started to watch just at the time Ivy had passed away so knew there was a tense history, but not the detail.

Seems Martin was definitely right then!

She was a super character.

Lynne Perrie who portrayed her wrote an autobiography which was quite gossipy and not very polite about certain cast members. For example, she spilled the beans about Elizabeth Dawn’s toxic marriage and about Brian Mosley’s poor health.

I remember reading that when the actress died, the only CS colleagues who attended her funeral were Helen Worth and Warren Jackson. And she’d been quite scathing of Warren in her book. And she’d said that Helen was lovely with the child actors and keen to be a mum herself, but pregnancy didn’t happen for her, which I think is quite a personal thing to divulge. I wouldn’t have been pleased with that.

I needn't have worried. When the scene opened on their four spaced-out beaming smiles, I literally laughed out loud.

That, and the AA meeting in a few years time, are two of the funniest things Cirrie has produced.
