Top picks to look for: Austria (though rehearsal looked underwhelming) and Australia (very heavy on the props!)

There's a few more typical Eurovision songs in there than semi one. This semi is more your guilty Eurovision pleasure than your Eurovision winner.

The Ukrainian entry, UK entry and Spanish entry also get a preview. The Ukrainian one is surprisingly good - when I first saw it I thought it was awful but it's really grown on me and the staging looks good.

I missed the wardrobe malfunction thank God.

Now I'm going to rewind to Man's because I missed him earlier and we can't have that

Pleased to see Belgium, Austria and Albania go through.

Much against my better judgement (because I think they have no place in Eurovision) I'm pleased to see Australia in the final because it's an absolute banger.

Well, I did an awful lot of cheering there for someone who thought all the songs were rubbish tonight. Turns out I like them.

I'm sad for Georgia and Iceland. I thought both deserved to go through. If I had to kick two out it would be Poland and Austria.

My guess is that Portugal will be the opening act. With Estonia in the #2 slot.

We were at this afternoon's preview and LOVED it. Then came home and watched again on telly.

I think when you watch on the TV you maybe don't notice as much the audience reaction. From where I was sitting it felt like the audience went wild for everyone. Even Greece.

Most of my favourites got through. Bit sorry San Marino didn't because the girl four seats down from us went absolutely nuts for him then said he was her boyfriend. So of course we cheered extra hard on her behalf.

I thought Austria got the best reaction. Poe, poe, poe, poe, poe...

Just to point out - SBS (Australian broadcaster) has been an Associate Member of the European Broadcasting Union for more than 20 years.

People think Eurovision is about Europe, and yet Israel is not a part of Europe. It is a broadcasting union member's song contest, not a European song contest.

Running order.

Austria killed dead as the opening act
France earlier than they'd like at 6th
Sweden got 9th (perhaps a touch early)
Italy get a prime 11th slot which is perfect for them
Finland 13th - right before half time. Good draw.
Australia and Belgium a touch too early at 15 and 16
Moldova almost get the wildcard 17th slot (they are 18th which is cracking)
Norway, Germany, Israel and Slovenia get great draws in the 20 to 24 slots.
Ukraine were already in 19th so that a lively block of fun towards the end.
Croatia put the nail in the UK coffin at 25 but at least they will make us look less flat - but the wtf effect will hit us hard.
UK closes at 26 (which is hard to get null points from but Mae's dodgy vocals last night suggest she may be going for an attempt at it)

Left of the board should include
France, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Moldova, Israel, Norway, Italy with wildcards of Germany and Croatia.

That means UK is headed for the mediocrity results lottery which is the right hand side of the board. Disappointment awaits the UK with Sunday's headlines already written. Mae Muller HAS to fix those vocals or the likes of the Mail will utterly rinse her and blame her rather than those nasty ignorant foreigners who all vote politically... But seriously, it's already clear the song just isn't in the same league as too many to make top 10. My feeling is there will be comments about over staging the UK entry come Sunday morning.
