Any main channel, Netflix or Prime please?

I'm thinking of the sort of thing that is usually 3 to 4 parts and shown over consecutive nights.Channel 5 do a lot of these things - usually set in super smart houses the character couldn't afford. Sometimes they are longer but normally less than 5 episodes

i've seen lots but am sure there must be ones I haven't seen.

Stuff like these (which I have seen as samples):

Finding Alice (ITV husband falls down bannisterless stairs of dream home he designed) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11127412/

The Catch (Ch 5) (seemingly perfect new bf of daughter freaks out her fisherman father) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11127412/

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (Netflix) woman believes she sees murder in house opposite, parody thriller https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13315324/

The Stranger (Netflix, Harlan Coben) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stranger_(British_TV_series)

Finding Alice (TV Series 2021) - IMDb

Finding Alice: Created by Roger Goldby, Simon Nye, Keeley Hawes. With Keeley Hawes, Isabella Pappas, Nigel Havers, Kenneth Cranham. Alice's husband of 20 years, Harry, falls down the stairs and dies soon after the couple move into the dream home he des...

The Woman in the Wall on bbc iplayer is just brilliant. Absolutely gripped - final episode tonight.

Loved Deceit on Netflix and The Thief His Wife & the Canoe. Chloe was brilliant too.

Just watched Wilderness. 2023 series 1, 6 episodes. Jenna Coleman. Was ok.

Have not RTFT, but in case this has not been mentioned, Unbelievable on Netflix is bloody brilliant. Female centred crime drama based on true events, starring Toni Collette.

Blatant placemark! I’ve seen a few of the suggestions, but there’s many listed that I haven’t seen, and I’m looking forward to getting cosy and getting my teeth into some of these!

Posters who recommend Malpractice (ITVX) - thank you! It was so good!

The Long Shadow (ITVX series about the investigation into Peter Sutcliffe's murders) is very well-done and focuses on the victims' back stories and the infuriating(!) botched police investigation. The acting is brilliant.

Yesterday I discovered 'Bodies' on Netflix.

Police procedural but happening n the past, now and in the future.

Restlessinthenorth · 25/10/2023 07:04

Not sure if Paybsck had been mentioned, but I binged it all in one go on Sunday. It was excellent

Just coming back here to say I have seen this trailed and I can hardly wait! Looks just up our street on this thread

Too Good To Be True Channel 5

https://tellymix.co.uk/too-good-to-be-true-channel-5/

Rachel is a single mother to her young son, Liam. Living on the brink of poverty, Rachel tirelessly works as a cleaner in a hotel to support her son.

Their lives take an unexpected turn when Rachel’s employer is contacted by Simone, a businesswoman acting on behalf of a wealthy client named Elliot. Simone presents Rachel with an opportunity for a job that promises better pay and shorter hours, an offer that appears too good to be true- a job working for a handsome wealthy businessman with a lavish lifestyle (and judging from the trailers a very nice house!)

Kara Tointon stars in Too Good To Be True on Channel 5

@ABoyCalledBasil was it any good?

ABoyCalledBasil · 22/02/2024 00:16

@Sunny866 I've watched 2 out of I think 5. It's not bad - a bit slow paced but the sort of thing I like - nice house, bit of psychological intrigue, stylish interiors and shots. relaxing easy viewing.

Have you seen the bodyguard series?

ABoyCalledBasil · 24/04/2024 19:38

Back to add to the list

Fool Me Once on Netflix
https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81588093

It's 8 episodes so more than I was looking for in my opening post but it's really good!
I've never seen Michelle Keegan in anything - thought she was just a tabloid Only way is Essex type fixture but she's well cast here and does a good job.

I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Would recommend for this type of drama if you like this sort of thing.

Watch Fool Me Once | Netflix Official Site

When ex-soldier Maya sees her murdered husband on a secret nanny cam, she uncovers a deadly conspiracy that stretches deep into the past.

I'm loving 'traces' on iPlayer - would really recommend it. I devoured series 1 and am now on to 2.

hlc123 · 25/04/2024 09:52

We enjoyed Coma starring Jason Watkins

ABoyCalledBasil · 10/06/2024 12:25

I've just seen an advert for this on ITV - The Beast Must Die featuring Jared Harris who I think is a great actor so hopeful.

The Beast Must Die - Watch Episode - ITVX

Red eye on ITVx also really good, I thought! Human interest was good - airplane type intrigue though, so not for those who get anxious on planes! 🙂

deeahgwitch · 10/06/2024 21:02

I've just watched two episodes of Jana on BBC 4.
It's Swedish and features a "trainee prosecutor" investigating a murder.
It's very good so far.

mommatoone · 13/06/2024 21:34

Just binged watched 'Payback ' on itv player. Really enjoyed it.
