Any main channel, Netflix or Prime please?

I'm thinking of the sort of thing that is usually 3 to 4 parts and shown over consecutive nights.Channel 5 do a lot of these things - usually set in super smart houses the character couldn't afford. Sometimes they are longer but normally less than 5 episodes

i've seen lots but am sure there must be ones I haven't seen.

Stuff like these (which I have seen as samples):

Finding Alice (ITV husband falls down bannisterless stairs of dream home he designed) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11127412/

The Catch (Ch 5) (seemingly perfect new bf of daughter freaks out her fisherman father) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11127412/

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (Netflix) woman believes she sees murder in house opposite, parody thriller https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13315324/

The Stranger (Netflix, Harlan Coben) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stranger_(British_TV_series)

Finding Alice (TV Series 2021) - IMDb

Finding Alice: Created by Roger Goldby, Simon Nye, Keeley Hawes. With Keeley Hawes, Isabella Pappas, Nigel Havers, Kenneth Cranham. Alice's husband of 20 years, Harry, falls down the stairs and dies soon after the couple move into the dream home he des...

The vanusjing act on itv x was ok. Based on a true story.

Hongkongsuey · 09/08/2023 07:26

@ABoyCalledBasil you should be a tv critic-that was very funny!

JMSA · 09/08/2023 07:31

The Sixth Commandment on iplayer. Absolutely EXCELLENT.

I am also very much enjoying What Remains (also BBC1).

Both have 4 episodes or so, and can be binged in one day! Blush

@Hongkongsuey thank you Number One Super Guy.

I'm back to say don't bother with Wolf.

I lovely scarey movies and horror but this was a bit too much for me. It's pretty hard core and very psychologically disturbing - I watched it in an overly constant state of tension and I found that really put me off the whole thing.

Just finished watching witness number 3 on Netflix. Was quite good. 4 episodes.

I've just finished this. If my son hadn't wanted to persevere, I'd have dumped it after the first two episodes. The plot didn't seem to progress at all until episode three but great acting from the main character and Phil.

I second this ! Absolutely fantastic, Superb acting all round. I watched the documentary after it too on all4.

I just found Thirteen on BBC with the brilliant Jodie Comer, worth a watch.

XelaM · 10/08/2023 08:17

Your Honor on Paramount is superb. I've started watching it on someone's recommendation and it's phenomenal.

beguilingeyes · 10/08/2023 11:47

We've just finished A Spy Among Friends on ITVX. It's about Kim Philby and stars Damian Lewis, Guy Pearce and Anna Maxwell Martin. Guy Pearce is fantastic in it.

Eddyraisins · 10/08/2023 15:49

Saint x on Disney is good.

cathyandclare · 10/08/2023 20:05

I love this thread! Just signing in to suggest Steeltown Murders, s true story about murders in Port Talbot in South Wales.

LadyEloise1 · 14/08/2023 10:23

Steeltown Murders was very good.
So sad though, it being a true story.

Eddyraisins · 14/08/2023 11:06

Good morning Veronica on Netflix is also good.

dontletsaskforthemoon · 14/08/2023 13:31

6th commandment. Utterly brilliant. Written from the families (victims) POV for a change, rather than the killers. Acting was superb. 4 parter.

Yes I enjoyed that too. Timothy Spall was wonderful in it.

I'm currently watching love and death on itv and it's so good - true story. Hooked

Weirdly Disney have the same
Story Candy. The Disney Candy looks more like the real Candy.

Interesting to see two different interpretations.

Eddyraisins · 16/09/2023 19:03

The killing kind on paramount.

Shelter on Prime

Dear Child and Burning body on Netflix. The latter a true story.

waltzingparrot · 17/09/2023 11:19

The Holiday with Jill Halfpenny was a great limited series

StanleyGoodspeed · 17/09/2023 11:32

Penance on Netflix

RustyBear · 17/09/2023 11:37

It’s 6 parts, but I’ve heard good things about Wilderness, on Amazon Prime - planning to watch it as soon as I’ve finished my Buffy rewatch!

I think this is based on the same true story as "Candy" (Disney Plus) which is also meant to be very good.
