He has extremely poor language and communication skills. Clearly has massive childhood trauma and very little impulse control. He needs to be detained as much for his own protection from himself as for the protection of the public. An awful life that then rippled out to destroy so many other lives.

Agreed.

The psychologist is a completely gullible fool.

My opinion too

How can anyone with so little insight be a professional forensic psychologist? Scary.

Borris · 20/02/2023 21:58

Haha he looks so baffled

It’s really concerning, I often come across this kind of ‘professional optimism’ particularly in child protection and it never fails to astonish me how gullible some professionals are.

anythinginapinch · 20/02/2023 21:59

I bet Olga would have a v different tale to tell

Lollywillowes · 20/02/2023 22:02

@dollymixtured I felt the parole officer with her clearly had the worldliness to understand what a lying, controlling scumbag she was dealing with.

Lollywillowes · 20/02/2023 22:03

@anythinginapinch - olga... the whole story stank

SunsetStrip · 20/02/2023 22:05

The murderer has given a much better representation of himself while just chatting to the camera, he must've been nervous at the hearing.

I've just been saying this. As if being conned out your savings isn't damaging ! I was pleased the other woman was more cautious.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought this. She said something like "he isnt an imminent risk" oh well thats ok then as long as he waits a little while before conning the next person!

Yes. No flies on Lucy, she was not taken in for a moment! Nor was his probation officer!

Toddlerteaplease · 20/02/2023 22:10

I was very surprised at how gullible the psychologist was. Thank goodness the other lady was more cynical. I like her!

I have googled her. Very impressive woman.

LizzieSiddal · 20/02/2023 22:12

Found this fascinating.

It was clear the fraudster was just bullshitting and couldn’t believe the younger woman was taken in by him. Thank god the older lady disagreed and requested more information.

The murderer: I really hope he’s learned his lesson, for everyone’s sake.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/02/2023 22:12

@dollymixtured I've sat in on child protection meetings. Where we have real concerns and Social care are like that. It's so frustrating!

If she exists at all. If you were going to make a Russian character up. Olga is exactly the name you'd go for.

We thought the murderer had insight as to his past behaviour. I didn't hear what he did that got him recalled to prison. The conman got my spidey senses going. It was all about him. He mentioned the effect his past behaviour had had on his victims almost as an aside. I'd go so far as to say he's a narcissist. He made my skin crawl.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/02/2023 22:17

This was exactly what came to mind as soon as the fraudster spoke. Sherlock Holmes. Charles Augustus Milvertonz

"Do you feel a creeping, shrinking sensation, Watson, when you stand before the serpents in the Zoo and see the slithery, gliding, venomous creatures, with their deadly eyes and wicked, flattened faces? Well, that's how Milverton impresses me. I've had to do with fifty murderers in my career, but the worst of them never gave me the repulsion which I have for this fellow."

He beat another person up but luckily stopped before killing him this time and even seemed proud of the fact he did this beating while sober rather than drunk or on drugs and this is the exact reason I didnt feel he should have been released. he was given a chance and blew it, why give him a second chance.

The murderer beat someone up badly during an altercation at his probation hostel.

Lollywillowes · 20/02/2023 22:19

Every time he talked about women my skin crawled.

Feel strongly that incompetent psychologist should consider a career move.

I'm ashamed to say I also judged her by her terrible fake tanned hands.

PaulRuddDoesntAge · 20/02/2023 22:19

The psychologist actually said something along the lines of “those people gave him money willingly” - my jaw almost hit the bloody floor! He gave off a horrible vibe and I don’t believe for a minute that he wouldn’t reoffend.

The murderer on the other hand wasn’t as cut and dry for me. I really hope his anger management work is effective as I think he has potential to stay out of trouble.

Yep, they get called out for it over and over again in serious case reviews but it is almost endemic IMO
