I’ll start it then.

Will he return to heap more misery on Scarlet?

LIZSall a bit odd, since it was meant to be a big dramatic event.

Clearly not 'culling half the cast' dramatic though.

I’m assuming the missing episode had something news related in the story line.
we know it was bomb and hostage related.

I’m guessing they used real booze to get them in the mood for the party scenes with 5 people in attendance

"I am your Aunt Helga. Strawberries nice, website BAAAAAAD"

Grin

Oh my smiley was missing from that post!! Anyway that strawberries good quite was brilliant. Grin

Does anyone watch The Great British menu? I think one of the chefs this week looks like Rob Hollins, especially around the eyes and mouth.

Raahh · 10/02/2023 08:02

Lily I used to watch GBM all the time- I've struggled with the last few series of it, and not sure why. I think the themes started to feel a bit 'forced'.
A banquet for the Queen's birthday, or whatever it was when it started- with a competiton for that -made sense. Some of the other years i've just felt 'would anyone really be that honoured to take part- seems a load of faff' Grin

In the contunuing saga of the missing Doctors episodes, it seems they skipped 11 episodes to get to yesterday's- Wednesday's was number 18, series 24. Yesterday's was (originally) 29.
Now whether they will show some of the missed ones, if they don't mess with continuity, I don't know.

but it might be a bit odd if they suddenly go from Scarlett moving in with the Gobbys- to living in a hostel, because in the interim episodes it didn't work out.

Not saying that is a plot that will happen, but it's not an unlikely scenario.

Plus a newbie in the credits- if he's another relative of Rhuma's ,then it will get a bit stale as a plot device.

MadisonAvenue · 10/02/2023 10:37

I’ve just watched yesterday’s episode, hopefully that won’t be repeated in a few weeks.

I like to read a spoiler and, without giving anything away, things won’t make sense without the missing episode(s).

Madison I read the spoilers too- and I agree.

it would also not surprise me, if someone gets confused, and we do get a repeat of yesterday's (which would be funny).

It could all get a bit confusing. Grin

LilyAndTheKing · 10/02/2023 16:11

Confused dot com already here 😂
I don't think DocTors can make me any worse.

Raahh · 13/02/2023 13:45

Noooo!

No Doctors!Why?!

doctorsnoddy · 13/02/2023 13:46

Noooooo!

Raahh · 13/02/2023 13:49

Bloody hell- they seem to have really messed up somewhere. They aren't showing any episodes this week!

Raahh · 13/02/2023 13:51

No idea what is going on- or how it would make any difference. They are hardly likely to be re-shooting a whole plot line. It's a daytime soap, not Line of Duty.

martinisforeveryone · 13/02/2023 14:04

Someone’s decided an explosion storyline is insensitive and they’re putting some space before they proceed, or, they’re shuffling content. No update on their Twitter account. Disappointing.

Raahh · 13/02/2023 14:24

I know- but it was one episode, and (knowing Doctors and the very quick way they move on) one or two episodes in the aftermath that connected to it I read the spoilers Grin.

It's unusual that the FB page isn't saying anything either. (They probably don't want any more complaints).

They won't need to go off for a 'break' over Easter at this rate- they will have loads of episodes in hand.

Raahh · 13/02/2023 14:30

By coincidence (given the episode they showed last week) the Aunt Helga advert has just appeared on my tv Grin.

martinisforeveryone · 13/02/2023 14:45

@Raahh sorry it came across as if I was explaining to people who hadn't cottoned on. What I meant to convey is saying out loud what we're all frustrated by, accompanied by an eye roll. I'd also made myself laugh at the imagined image of all available episodes written on cards and someone vexed like it's the worst wedding table plan conundrum imaginable 'We're gonna need more tiiiiiiiimmmmmmme'

Raahh · 13/02/2023 14:55

Oh no, I didn't think thatGrin.

I do wonder if there are a whole bunch of confused people at the BBC scratching their heads wondering what episode they are up to thoughGrin

(I'm still expecting them to repeat one by mistake!).

Raahh · 13/02/2023 14:58

And yy, to the wedding table/plan scenario.Grin.

Someone behind the scenes just threw away the plans and put Animal Farm on in a strop.

Raahh · 13/02/2023 14:58

*Park

Animal Farm might be better!

Perhaps particularly during half term week?

Raahh · 13/02/2023 15:23

It isn't half term everywhere though. It isn't here.

Raahh · 13/02/2023 15:30

I just wish they would put something more interesting on instead! i really don't like Animal park or whatever it's called!

martinisforeveryone · 13/02/2023 15:52

Aah so someone's taken the decision that school age children are as likely, or, more likely, to see something distressing on Doctors in the middle of the day, than they are to see the news coverage of tragic events? That's not aimed at you @LIZS I hadn't made the connection myself.

Personally I'd have thought they could've swapped some BBC2 programming, quiz shows are on at the moment, and banished Doctors to 2.

If there'd been a massive explosion because of man made events in real life, I could see how it would be insensitive to schedule a similar storyline in the same timeframe, but given that it's a low profile tv series and not similar, then even with half term I think they could've left it to viewers to decide if it was suitable viewing or not.

Musicalsfan · 13/02/2023 16:10

I thought that following the explosion someone would be trapped under rubble and have to be rescued and this would be insensitive to be shown at the moment.

Yes, that's what I was thinking, so many still being trapped or whereabouts unknown is the aspect that most likely to seen as insensitive if the episodes show people in that situation, even if the cause is different, there are a lot of Turkish/Syrian people in the UK.
