Is it weird to say no game spoilers? I've not played the game so don't know the game story line

Who else is watching?

The 1st 2 episodes were really good

But wow. Ep 3 is amazing.

I actually cried over characters I'd known for less than 1 hour

Another good one tonight. I’ve never played the game so went into it blind. I was sure it wouldn’t be for me!
We watched episode 1 a few weeks ago and weren’t really sure we were following what was happening. I decided to give episode 2 a try last week and was gripped by the end of that. We binge watched 3-5 over the weekend and then we’re gutted when we realised we’d caught up and now had to wait. I assumed the whole series was available.

But right in episode one in the meeting of smoking men on telly, it explains cordyceps and how it works, so if you were paying attention you would probably know this already.
Dd studies mycology and is a gamer, the theories posited by John Hannah et al are accurate.

I don’t know why there wasn’t - one has been made and it’s all over the usual places. I watched the UHD download rather than the Sky Atlantic broadcast so I don’t see what they choose to put immediately after. I asked my cousin in the US and he said the s7 trailer was broadcast straight after the ep on HBO.

It looks like the next episode is going to be based on an expansion pack to the original game called Left Behind. I will only say that this game fleshes out a back story for a character rather than moving the main narrative forward.

I enjoyed episode 6 but I didn’t see the ending coming (I don’t do spoilers or even trailers and have no idea how the game goes). Gutted.

Can’t wait to see what happens over the next three episodes. I really like the pace of the show and how unpredictable it is.

I also love picturing certain scenes as a video game - the close up of the map in the campus was a great example.

Another brilliant episode, some very funny scenes as well.

I too was waiting for someting bad to happen.

I am guessing we will get some background story on Ellie next week and leave us with the Joel cliffhanger for a bit longer.

It was a great episode. I thought it was brave not to have a single appearance of any infected, as if it wasn’t already clear that this really isn’t a horror show.

The brief scene where Joel saw the woman who could have been Sarah, with the child who could have been his grandchild, was really moving.

Yes, at first I thought it was odd we didn’t see any infected but then I like how the show and the storyline constantly reminds you that the infected are not the only thing to fear. It doesn’t stop me from thinking swathes of infected are going to appear at any moment though.

I would have stayed at the commune for a bit longer than one night, mind!

I've been watching these after the episodes air. I've played the game but a while ago, it shows the side by side comparison with the game/TV show. I'm fascinated by how closely some scenes mirror the game but the writers aren't afraid to take the story beyond the game.
