But when Nev was introduced to us by Kevin he gave the impression that Nev was a twisting money grabber. What was the back story that he and Kevin or Kevin's Dad was it? had been unofficial partners, but Nev somehow twisted Kevin out of his dues, hence the abduction and ransom plan. Our sympathy was meant to be with poor, over-worked, under paid and hard done by Kev.

Then of course Nev revealed a totally different character offering up school fees for K's children and opened up about Helen's illness and our emotions did a complete about turn. It was clever.

my view is that Kevin’s dad was as lazy and self absorbed as his son but Kev had his own reality on how Nev had treated his dad who was no doubt just as much a spectacularly waste of space as Kev….

Speaking of JN's teeth. Similar to Eddie Redmayne. Is it an Eton thing ?

i have only just realised that nev and kev rhyme.

ooooh - and the teeth thing. spencer matthews also has great teeth but james norton went to ampleforth and not eton so maybe there was an unwritten public school law that they all have to have amazing teeth but it only came into effect after people with dodgy teeth went to either.

now i am thinking about people on MIC and what their teeth are like. ex public school etc etc.

In my wild youth I knew a few men who’d been in prison and they all came out of there 2 stone (+) heavier.

Nothing rhymes with Catherine, but people of a certain age remember Cathy and Claire .

@TwoMonthsOff you're probably right. With the benefit of hindsight I can't cast any aspersions at Nevison, but at the time Kevin was presented as the victim and we didn't believe he'd ever have set a foot wrong unless he was pushed too far.

I don't think Norton's teeth are that impressive tbh, he would benefit from a brace in my orthodontic opinion. When we see a close up of him like when chatting to Our Ryan at end of the last episode you can see they kind of curve inover. Bet that's why he has that slight lisp thing going on.
He needs a Damon. Perhaps I should be his PA 🥰

what are we (okay so specifically me) going to talk about when we've dissected all of sunday nights? i am feeling maudlin at the thought of no more HV but i can't bring myself to watch grantchester (have never seen it) and maybe james norton will do a cbeebies bedtime story with the bleached hair and donkey jacket look that he rocked in series 1. and he can read the gruffalo in a yorkshire accent.

I don't know, bleak times lay ahead. It'll be back to analysing Call The Midwife or slagging off Pip Schofield on DOI.

We'll all be going back to series 1 ep 1 for a first glimpse of t'donkey jacket..

I'd take Mike Taylor over both of them

I loved George Costigan ever since The Beiderbeck Affair, but he was a really horrible, foul, Fred West type in Scott and Bailey, and he played that character so well it even colours my view of Nevison. It took me a long time to come round to Nev being a goodie.

People have been speculating on Nev being the one who got the phone in for Tommy and that he is the Top Man in the OCG - but do you think there's any chance that he will be the one to "off" Tommy - beating Grandad Beetroot, Darius, Catherine, Claire and Our Ryan to the punch?

So would I, TBH.

Sean was the classic ‘bad boy’ and good looking ,photogenic in his younger days, he’s a brilliant actor and he hasn’t gone down the route of veneers and Botox and hair plugs, I do think he’s a presence in everything he’s been in

Do you know @TwoMonthsOff - believe it or nor I've never seen Shirley Valentine. Even more surprising because I love Pauline Collins.

I'll obviously have to fill that gap in my education asap.

It was the final series - character's daughter who kidnapped Jill was played by Nicola Walker.

He's one heck of an actor!

I'm watching Last Tango in Halifax. I'm only half way through the first episode but I'm falling asleep.

its funny and also sad….’.chips and egg vegetarian bloodhound’ springs to mind 😭and her stuck in The 50’s husband - pretty typical Carla lane pathos really. Nobody could be more appealing than the wonderful Pauline Collins in that, bless her really brilliant ❤️
it’s cemented itself in our culture though I think…..always worth a watch for the scenery before Mykonos got to be THE place to go ….
