It's a shame these two are up against each other because it's easy to see them both in the final

Sunbird24 · 02/02/2023 20:33

I can get on board with a butter bath

Totally agree, they're both creating interesting banquet-worthy stuff. I'm team Will ( local restaurant) but I think the James and the giant peach pudding is a real winner.

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:37

Oh yeah that pudding will win it

EsmaCannonball · 02/02/2023 20:38

It's a weakness of the format that some of the heats are stronger than others, and also that someone can do an utterly brilliant dish but if their overall menu doesn't progress through the competition then it doesn't make it to the banquet.

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:40

But I wan5 cabbage to taste like cabbage. Not something else

HouseHistoryHunter · 02/02/2023 20:42

I think this jelly castle thing looks repulsive.

lettingthedaysgoby · 02/02/2023 20:42

I think Will is the better che, but Cal will go through on presentation...

My least favourite guest judge, Tom Aikens, told a chef off one year for allowing the other chefs to help him plate up. It just made him seem like a total knob.

Didn't Richard Corrigan kick off about this too?

I agree, Tom seems to be team Will but the others aren't

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:44

cal will go through

Sunbird24 · 02/02/2023 20:44

Didn’t look shaky to me Andi…

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:46

Tom likes will

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:50

Cal s pudding will win this

EsmaCannonball · 02/02/2023 20:51

Not a pudding person. I knew he was evil.

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:46

Tom likes will

Unless I'm very mistaken, they are tasting bling, so Tom likes the way Will cooks - unless he knows the styles so well he can identify the chef. But Will's cooking is the sort that chefs go for, so that's probably why.

Arrgh, tasting blind. Stupid autocorrect

EsmaCannonball · 02/02/2023 20:54

As with yesterday, I don't know why he thought they would defrost that quickly. It is my favourite dish, though.

Wolfcub · 02/02/2023 20:55

Put them both through

EsmaCannonball · 02/02/2023 20:56

Quite often the celebrity guest seems to be someone who doesn't like food. I remember Anita Dobson doing teensy-weensy nibbles.

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:57

Wow will

lettingthedaysgoby · 02/02/2023 20:58

... and that's why I don't gamble on things. (Either would have been worthy winners)

littlbrowndog · 02/02/2023 20:58

Yeah I meant Tom likes wills food.

HouseHistoryHunter · 02/02/2023 20:58

Shocked but pleased about the result for Will- sad that the peach dish won't be there though
