Starts here in Oz 30th January so thought I'd give everyone a heads up if you're watching in real time with us.

In case anyone needs a reminder this will be the spoiler/up to date thread. Someone else can start the UK pace one.

Oh no! It's actually worse losing it after we've become invested than not being able to see any of it!

Episode 5 isn’t on yet I hope they are still able to show them

I've purchased a VPN that promised access to 9Now - not working without the 9now app, which can't be downloaded in the UK. I've just about given up trying to watch episode 5. No luck on shvideos or southern hem tv either.

I'm starting to feel sorry for Melissa. I don't think she's as sexually empowered as she likes to claim. I think deep down she's insecure and is desperate to be loved but she's equating love with sex and is completely oblivious to her partner's wants and needs.

I completely agree. She's also gone in hard for Josh when she doesn't know him at all, which gives the idea that she would want this to work out with any warm, male body she was presented with.

It's quite sad.

Spot on!

It’s so immoral to have someone who is clearly so (I tried to think of a nicer word but can’t) desperate for love, and so clearly unhinged, partaking in this show.

It reminded me of Jo a few seasons back, who married Sean. He looked devastated when she walked down the aisle, and she thought he was the best thing since sliced bread because he was a male with a pulse standing and not running away. She ended up heartbroken and had given up everything to take part in the show and they really screwed her over.

Just watching Melinda and Layton now.

She IS very pretty (although v different with less make up). However her filler makes her look odd when she laughs, very joke like, and she couldn’t physically pucker her lips in the first kiss

He’s ok looking but he is punching looks-wise

But bloody hell talk about loving yourself! Every sentence is about how gorgeous she is or how successful her businesses are

The chicken/steak thing was odd, moaning about him being a gentleman - does she want someone to be a dick to her?!

She reminds me of Stacey in season 7 (that not many people have seen as it wasn’t on Channel 4) who was repulsed by Michael until she found out half way through the wedding that he was a millionaire and she completely changed her tune!

All very true.
Except I also think there is something off about Leyton.

Look at his wedding night behaviour when you get there. I know she's not being particularly warm towards him but...

As an aside, it always surprises me how little effort some guests make for the wedding. Your child is getting married and you’re wearing a casual Primark top and a crocodile clip in your hair, FFS

And when Melinda talked about how her grandma met Pob I thought at first she meant her grandma met John the Ixpert 😂 before realising she was saying Pop!

I’ve been reading MN for too long

I guess they sent in two slightly problematic women in ep 5 to counterbalance the truly dreadful Harrison and Jesse.
As I've never watched it before I don't know what happens next now all the weddings are done. Do they just bicker and then start swapping round?

Strap yourself in you're about to be taken for a ride. Just remember no one watches mafs to watch people find love (if they do that's a bonus) we watch for the train wreck it is. And yes now that the weddings are done it's time for dinner parties, starting fights, partner swapping, toxic people being toxic, etc

There are so many spoilers already on social media, most of them being released by the cast themselves

Me too. Harrison is revolting and I'd love him to get a proper Ixpert grilling, but I fear, as usual, they will be too soft and then give Brontë some shit advice instead.

Jesse, though. Where to start? I am actually worried about him. I think he might be the most insecure little man I've ever seen. His 'I don't chase girls' thing is clearly some sort of incel rule he has adopted in order to keep some control. He is absolutely clueless about real human beings and I think he's unable to change because he is frozen by his own inadequacy. Boy needs intensive therapy. It was cruel to have him on here and subject Claire to him when he is incapable of forming relationships and will damage anyone who crosses his path.

@lifeissweet with regards to Jessie i was wondering if he may be on the autism spectrum. I have two dc who are autistic and some of his behaviours are familiar. I could be wrong but he seems to have no idea how to react when confronted with his behaviours and no idea how his comments on her personality could be so hurtful to her. It doesn't seem to me that he is deliberately gaslighting her unlike the vile Harrison.
