I have loved:

  • The White Lotus
  • Glass Onion
  • Severance
  • Succession
  • Ghosts
  • What we do in the Shadows
  • Ted Lasso
  • Stanley Tucci Searching for Italy

I liked:

  • Our Flag Means Death
  • Sherwood
  • Slow Horses

I turned off:

  • Bad Sisters (loved the writing and performances but couldn't BEAR the prick - it was just making me stressed watching it!)

And I cannot watch Broadchurch/ Happy Valley style grim, violent TV, no matter how well written.

What have I missed that you have loved?

I thought I had caught up with the detectorists but it was in bbc 2 tonight!

I suspect they’re reshowing it. It’s very popular. There are three series and this years one off feature length special. Apparently they’re not doing any more 😢

I've just worked my way through Detectorists, absolutely loved it and am sad to have finished them all.

Very gentle, comforting telly with some proper belly laughs at times.

Oh I love this, we even purchased a metal detector 😄

National Treasure on Disney+, the new tv series. It’s different to the early 2000’s films.
Only murders in the building on Disney+ too. Funny and quite clever.
Ted Lasso really drew me in.
Mythic Quest on Apple+ is good.

custardlover · 18/01/2023 20:40

Oh yes I loved Dopesick and Inventing Anna too. Some great new ideas here, thank you!

The Orville on Disney + - the future as you really want it to be. Starts off very much a comedy (from the guy who did family guy), but moves firmly to drama with a comic twist. Funny, charming escapism. And if you ever watched star trek and wondered things like why they all have their uniform on when called to the bridge in the middle of the night this will make you smile.

I just remembered watching Fleabag for the first time - series two - and how amazing it was.

The Traitors on BBC iplayer

WhyDoesItAlways · 26/01/2023 22:45

Thank you for the 1899 recommendation, I'm really enjoying it.

Going to watch Mum next, any idea what channel/streaming service I'd find it on?

runoutofgoodusernames · 26/01/2023 22:48

Has no one mentioned Happy Valley?!!

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 26/01/2023 22:54

Really enjoyed Sex Education, Motherland, Catastrophe and Superstore for funny, lighthearted TV .

Ozark and Breaking Bad for something more gritty.

Tomeeornottomee · 26/01/2023 22:59

DH and I started watching the traitors US a couple of nights ago..its very addictive. we've agreed to watch 2 per night because i would binge watch it all in one day if it was up to me. 🤣 and then be stuck with nothing to watch. Also I want to live in the castle its filmed in. Its fabulous. Apart from the Highland coo's heid sticking out of the wall

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 27/01/2023 19:08

Just finished the second series of The Outlaws, really enjoyed it.

newnamethanks · 22/02/2023 20:05

Agreed @KimberleyClark Treason was surprisingly good. Not perfect but better than most.

Justcashnosweets · 22/02/2023 20:18

Absolutely love Schitts Creek and binge watched it last week. Also loved Only Murders In The Building, The Sandman, Lockwood and Co, Ghosts, and Happy Valley.

Heyjoewhatsup · 22/02/2023 20:19

Radio 2 Piano room sessions on BBC iplayer (it’s audio visual).

Lots of different artists performing 3 songs: a classic from their own repertoire, a current song and a cover. With the BBC orchestra!

So many fantastic performances to enjoy.

Justcashnosweets · 22/02/2023 20:20

And also loving The Last of Us! ♥️

WGACA · 22/02/2023 20:22

Without Sin on ITVX

Crazykefir · 22/02/2023 20:31

Loved 'the gold", new on i player. Fantastic narritave based drama.
Also just rewatched 'him and her' with the teenager, massively underated imo.

AllAboutMargot · 22/02/2023 20:33

Search Party on BBCiplayer.

Very funny, weird AF satire on influencers, big pharma business, the media and millennial hipsters.
