Genius idea putting some reality tv people in their too, they’re already schooled in TV manipulation!

Alan Cumming, amazing actor (if in any doubt watch My Old School, his lip syncing is faultless) He’s no Davina tho, playing it like Macbeth! He waltzes in and out but he hasn’t yet shown much empathy.

Interesting how they aren't Helping other team...

I'm finding Alan Cumming's accent really odd - it's as if he's overdoing the Scots but with a super theatrical tinge. Has he lived in the US too long ?

Yes!! We were saying this too!

Wilkolampshade · 13/01/2023 20:24

D'you know what, DH is currently out with a very attractive work colleague he has a v obvious crush on... I really, really need this distraction tonight...

Womencanlift · 13/01/2023 20:25

They are not a likeable bunch at all are they? In fact they even make Maddie seem likeable

Anyone know which was filmed first? The UK or US version?

The British one was filmed in May….. can’t find anything about when the US one was filmed

Back in the 80's Alan was part of a comedy due with Forbes Masson, called 'Victor and Barry', who were, as they were always telling the audience, the Founder members of the Kelvinside Young People's Amateur Dramatic Art Society. They were completely over the top, and absolutely hilarious!

He's sounding exactly like Barry, to me.

Some of their stuff can be found at https://twitter.com/victorandbarry.

Alan Cumming is horrendous. His accent is hideous.

I am finding him really annoying and I usually love him.

Claudia was so much more nuanced and drk.

Alan is treating it like everything is his own private perfomance and opportunity to be a luvvy. He looks, and sounds, like a bit of a knob.

kirkandpetal · 13/01/2023 20:19

They would have loved Claudia!

There is no way they would have understood Claudia.
They would have viewed her a a quirky curiosity!

Womencanlift · 13/01/2023 21:04

Would definitely recommend both of Alan Cummings autobiographies (first is about his childhood, second about his career). He has had a very interesting, and in some cases very sad life

00100001 · 13/01/2023 21:05

Can't believe they didn't help each other dig....!

kirkandpetal · 13/01/2023 21:29

@WhereYouLeftIt

I remember Victor and Barry! One of them sat on my knee to sing a song. Me and my mum used to go to see them at the Grinfe whenever possible. I have an old cassette of their songs - the 'Marks and Spencer' one was awesome!

kirkandpetal · 13/01/2023 21:30

Fringe I mean!

CaveMum · 13/01/2023 21:30

Yay! My people! I’m on Ep2 right now.

I’m guessing it was filmed in the autumn. They’re all wearing a few layers and some of the trees look a bit bare.

CaveMum · 13/01/2023 21:58

Anyone else amused by their spelling ability at the round table? 😜

Wilkolampshade · 13/01/2023 22:05

@CaveMum totally, shocking!

SlippinKimmy · 13/01/2023 22:12

The spelling was hilarious! I think only one of them got it right 😁

ladymacbeth · 13/01/2023 22:12

Anyone know how to watch the Australian one?

Jeryldean was the best worst spelling.

santastolemycat · 13/01/2023 22:43

shvideos.net/2022/11/01/traitors-1-9/

that’s the site without ads

santastolemycat · 13/01/2023 22:52

I am on the last ep!
I feel they have dumbed down a lot of the games for the americans.
I also think that maybe in the last round table whoever is voted off shouldn’t say whether they are faithful etc and they only find out when the game over. As this would cause more confusion and trust issues amongst the players left.

Champagneforeveryone · 13/01/2023 22:56

I was a fan of the UK version from episode 1, so was keen to take a look at this (as well as being a huge AC fan)

Just on episode 3 and I'm undecided. Bit put off that it's identical location and challenges, and definitely finding AC a bit OTT.

OTOH, I recall it taking a few episodes to get into the contestants so I'll give it a bit longer.

I just looked at Amanda’s Instagram (for those that have watched a few episodes they will probably guess why).

She posted recently saying “a little over 8 months ago I flew to Scotland for an adventure”. And then she was posting at the end of May saying “that’s me back home” so guessing they filmed UK and US back to back which would make sense from a production point of view

Womencanlift · 13/01/2023 23:17

In fact further digging shows Alan posting from the castle at the beginning of May and Claudia posted at the end so May was a busy month for the Highlands!!

(you can see that I am not really as invested in this one as the UK version hence the scrolling through Instagram and MN but DP wants to keep watching!!!)
