New thread for new series

obviously all this has happened in the past year

they would have been better filming this as it happened and showing it

as we have seen all their trips on Facebook and instagram if on it

E 1 - Chloe’s pregnancy takes a worrying turn

This episode had some more interesting bits – Sue’s friends talking about how people were gossiping about her being a young mum, etc. Noel’s vasectomy reversal – FFS why????? They should’ve had some counselling instead, to try and understand why they felt the need to keep on producing children.

I did sympathise with them losing their Kendal shop in 2001 – I was supposed to take a Lake District holiday that year but foot-and-mouth put a stop to that. Yes they must’ve been worried about money – but in those days, every new baby meant another wedge of tax credits coming in.

They’ll have made some more enemies after slagging off that area of Kendal so badly!

The last segment about the faked power cut was just stupid. It’s so obvious when they’re trying to remember what lines to recite! And we’ve already had one faked power cut this series! Booooooooring.

Towntroubadour · 08/03/2023 18:45

I thought it was so rude the way they talked about the area that they lived in. As people have said, people live there now.

When Sue said her friends pretty much dropped her - she was what 13/14. Being pregnant was probably alien to most of her friends.

It seems they’re trying to do anything to fill an episode. What I find interesting about these big families is saying how money is always tight, cost of living but yet all continued having children.

purpleme12 · 08/03/2023 18:50

Yes they're definitely just saying or doing anything to fill an episode. That's definitely more obvious now

Fizbosshoes · 08/03/2023 19:31

They were talking about how Noel used to have 2 jobs and not come in until late etc - not necessarily because living costs were extortionate, but probably that its not that feasible for one person working ft (unless they are a hedge fund manager or CEO of a massive company) to be able to fund housing and living expenses for 12+ people.

Possibly her friends' parents didn't want their kids hanging around with someone who was in a relationship with a 17/18 year old.

If my DC had a 13 year old friend who got pregnant to another 13/14 year old, I'd encourage them to support her, but if she was in a relationship with someone much older I'd probably keep them well clear, to be honest.

beachruns · 08/03/2023 21:50

This episode has disappeared from channel 5?we were halfway through watching it. So weird b

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2023 22:03

That is weird. Just looked at sky and shows 1-8 and 10 for next week

Where has 9 gone

beachruns · 08/03/2023 22:05

Not just me then? So strange!!

Limer · 09/03/2023 07:18

Episode 9 has disappeared off my Sky listings too! I downloaded and watched it yesterday with no problem (it clashed on Sunday so didn't record then).

Towntroubadour · 09/03/2023 09:40

I’d encourage my 14 year old to support her friend but in reality I would imagine it’s very difficult. A lot of adults find their friendships drift even without kids involved plus add in the fact Noel was older. I found it surprising that if the bridesmaids were such good friends with Sue why they don’t seem to have kept in touch.

Togoodtobeforgotten · 09/03/2023 10:41

I thought the episode was very poor, I thought the graveyard thing and the box of memories was not good yes I understand raise awareness but the graveyard and the personal bits should be personal to them. I did look up the Tattle thread it is a bit viscous.

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 09/03/2023 13:04

I wonder if they have taken the episode down to edit it. I am sure they did the same last series.

Togoodtobeforgotten · 09/03/2023 13:17

I have started now watching Scotland's biggest families and have to say I like the family that were Mormons and left the church I'm not so keen on the other family.

Fizbosshoes · 09/03/2023 13:31

I couldn't find the episode on Monday (on catch up - sky) but watched on Tuesday no problem

Towntroubadour · 09/03/2023 16:58

@Togoodtobeforgotten, I really liked the Hann family. But like you didn’t like the Sullivans. They seem to be using their YouTube now to take about their kids mental health issues in a bid to stay in their current house.

mrssunshinexxx · 09/03/2023 19:08

@Towntroubadour thanks

your right and it's so important to remember they are kids and they have to go into school and face other children and all this sort of stuff leaves them vulnerable and the father's more interested in becoming a star through his big family which is not great.

I really feel for the lady in the other family being forced to grow up in that religion, being raped and then to gave her baby given away, it is lovely to see her being empowered and also to see their children going to uni, running their own business and their other children talking about uni and stuff.

TheFairyCaravan · 12/03/2023 17:11

Holy moly! I’ve been unwell the past couple of days and have fallen down the Tattle rabbit hole. The Radford thread over there has got ver interesting the past couple of days. It just goes to show that no matter how old the children of these families get, they still need a lot of in put, and multiple trips to Florida don’t really cut it.

There’s something about Sue that’s really odd. I can’t put my finger on it. I don’t trust her one bit.

DoesItMakeYouFeelBetter · 12/03/2023 20:19
