Sr MJ entered the order in 1904. Presumably aged 16-18. So she was probably born in the late 1880's.

I'll be sad if sister Monica Joan does die, she's been an integral part of the show since the beginning. I felt sorry for her when she was so ill, I wasn't convinced they'd of let a man in when she was in bed...

It makes no sense that Lucille would abandon her husband, it would have made more sense if they'd said her mother was seriously ill or something and she was needed at home to look after her.

There has to be some medical explanation for the viewers though. I know he probably wouldn't need to tell the nuns/nurses/Sheilagh half of what he does, but it's exposition. It's the same reason that on Dr Who There is always an assistant- There needs to be someone to explain things to for the viewers.

I think I'm the only person who likes the Turner family though. I wish Sheilagh was my friend, I feel like she'd be one of those people who can make everything feel better with a cuppa and a chat.

I feel like she was in Coronation Street? Possibly as a police officer but one who was in the cast? That's what my brain conjoured up anyway.

@Girliefriendlikespuppies She's a high Anglican religious sister. Absolutely no way would a man have been allowed into her room. I find it very difficult to believe that she'd relate to him, from a pastoral point of view at all. Their churchmanship is poles apart.

Ah, nope I totally made that up. Her name is Hannah-Jane Fox and she's a well known stage actress.

But she looks a lot like Angela Lonsdale who played Curly Watts wife Emma, a police sergeant, in Corrie. That's who I was thinking of.

And yes, I did go back into the recording and fast forward to the credits just to find out who the actress was. How sad.
