Of course there's a new treatment

IconicKitty · 05/02/2023 20:48

Heather's mother is awful!

MichaelAndEagle · 05/02/2023 20:48

Why did the mother leave? I can't believe you'd leave all your children because your husband had psoriasis.

CaptainMyCaptain · 05/02/2023 20:49

The wedding's gone tits up. They're going to go and get hitched in a registry office without all the bridezilla nonsense.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 05/02/2023 20:49

I'm surprised the social worker's one the girl's side. I thought she'd be more casually on the parents' side, especially as they're 'respectable'.

I thought he got the psoriasis afterwards with all the stress. I don't know why he couldn't leave the house and, at least, sign on rather than living on paperboy wages.

With Collette as a bridesmaid

ShakeYourFeathers · 05/02/2023 20:51

Some dust as got in my eye when that lad with leukaemia's mum hugged him

The dog under the habit and the tail poking out 😂

Teenage girls mum is horrid

Toddlerteaplease · 05/02/2023 20:51

I was wondering why mum had left.

I think this is yet another example of the writers getting mixed up between what may happen today and what most likely happened in 1968.

I think it’s another example of using todays morals when in the 60s attitudes towards a pregnant 15 year old would have been very different.

I don't think we should assume all social workers in 1968 were horrible.

PriamFarrl · 05/02/2023 20:54

I said leukaemia straight away. DH has wandered off so I haven’t yet been able to prove I’m right.

LIZS · 05/02/2023 20:58

Sad Sister MJ and Nothing

Toddlerteaplease · 05/02/2023 20:59

I'm also very surprised by the social
Worker's attitude.

Feeling a little tearful at the dog…oh dear!

ouch321 · 05/02/2023 21:03

Lovely ep though wish we had got to know the outcome of the boy's story line

Elderflower14 · 05/02/2023 21:05

So pleased that Trixie asked Nancy and Colette... ♥ ♥

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 05/02/2023 21:06

I didn't even think Trixie was that close to Colette?

Mammyloveswine · 05/02/2023 21:06

Presumably they'll go back to him!

Enjoyed this episode much more than others this season.

Tears at the end with nothing the dog!

Taytocrisps · 05/02/2023 21:09

I predicted leukemia as soon as the paper boy was late for his round and mentioned tiredness. I assumed his Dad was depressed because his wife had left him.

Why did the teen mum's parents leave her alone for four weeks? Where did they go? Why didn't one of her older siblings stay with her? Or she could have stayed with them?

Looks like both Cyril and Lucille will be missing for a bit.

LIZS · 05/02/2023 21:15

How can Cyril afford his trip, I doubt there was sick pay.

Taytocrisps · 05/02/2023 21:16

He said that he and Lucille had used the last of their savings.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 05/02/2023 21:26

Enjoyed tonight's episode, loved the little dog! Is it the same dog as the one in Doc Martin?!

Felt the teenager, I've got a 16yo dd and can't imagine her coping with me buggering off for a month with someone popping in once a week!

Glad they didn't just go with adopting the baby out though even though that would have been more realistic.

I guessed psoriasis and leukaemia so feeling quite pleased with myself for that 😂
