I saw the advert a couple of weeks ago and meant to Google the daughter. I thought she was Kate Winslet's daughter IRL as they look so alike. She is.

I love all "I Am" programmes. Although they are very deep and thought provoking.

Wasn't keen on the Suranne Jones one.

I'm not sure she's helping her daughters mental health by being so WORRIED 😧

But it's good so far

was a bit slow and ponderous in the first hour, and too many breaks.
if i hadn't heard kate winslet talking about it on woman's hour, think i'd have given up.
i see nothing wrong with her terms of endearment, sound quite natural and totally inoffensive to me.
guess i'm older than lots of you. kind of feel it must be nice to have a parent so interested in how youngster is feeling. that was not the norm when i was young. the done thing was not to bother the parents, lives were much more separate. also youngsters seemed to be much more independent earlier age.
most were working at 16.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. As the mum of an almost 14 year old who struggles socially, my heart is aching for Ruth. 😢

I am so impressed too with both of KW's kids, they've clearly inherited her thespian talents.

Finding it really hard going and emotional. How lovely is the brother though ! It’s the first I am I have watched . What are the previous ones please ?

It was harrowing and although I sympathise with Ruth - I too have said the absolute wrong thing to my teens - I can’t help but think she really needed to be stronger for her daughter

Fantastic acting from Kate and her children. Feeling quite emotional now. The sudden ending I guess shows that this is something you have to live with, there is no easy fix. And knowing how slow it can be to actually get any professional help.

I’m having a quiet weep. It just all seemed so hopeless. Beautifully acted.

Half the problem as a parent of teenagers now is that we never grew up with mobile phones and social media so it's a complete minefield and you have no idea how to navigate it. Lurching from total denial to screeching at them and wanting to ban their phones. I thought Kate Winslet played the part perfectly.

Completely, I’ve grabbed my DDs phone when angry and I’ve felt all the confusion Ruth felt so she played that brilliantly.

I thought Kate Winslet looked really old. I expect that was intentional. I am ten years older and look younger than her in the episode.

@Zippedydoo123 I reckon it was to illustrate her tiredness - up half the night listening to the phone pings etc

KW’s not playing a pretty problem like a romcom breakup, it’s a hard frightening scenario and that’s what works.

Did you watch it @Zippedydoo123 because when she did her DD got a knife out. What we didn’t see was how it spiralled, phone management for a teen like Freya is key but it’s tricky when they get to 17

I think Kate looks bloody good at 47.

100%!! Commenting on how people look is a massive problem on social media and society. Such a vicious circle and it's good to be reminded to hold our tongues as we have no idea what people are going through.

I think KW looks great and is a real ambassador for middle aged actors and women in general.

KW is brilliant and I love how she looks her age. Beautiful, for sure. But not trying to look 22 again.
