Hopefully Raahh can post on this one.

Nearly time for the Christmas cliffhanger!

OP posts:

Yeah, good luck finding a computer course. Even WEA has stopped locally - we regularly get asked and there is nothing.

Binglebong · 10/01/2023 14:11

And once again we are back to male wankers.

Raahh · 10/01/2023 14:12

And now Scarlett is taking a taxi!

Our local library doesn't even have many workable pcs any more- and dd2 couldnt use one of 3 they do have last week for her homework- because she was in uniform (her school is 100 yards from the library. They have picture of the school on the walls. Hmm).

StellaAndCrow · 10/01/2023 14:14

Raahh that's bizarre not letting your DD use the computer!

Raahh · 10/01/2023 14:21

It's nuts. And not very helpful for dc who don't have a computer at home. DD2 does have use of a laptop= but she was passing the library, and she thought she would do her maths homework there with her friend. If they were messing about, fair enough-but dd2 wouldn't say boo to a gooseGrin

StellaAndCrow · 10/01/2023 14:21

I haven't watched for a while - I'm assuming Val/Sarah has left? That's sad, she was my favourite thing about it. After finding her annoying at first, I gradually came to love and appreciate her :)

StellaAndCrow · 10/01/2023 14:22

Surely that's what libraries are for, helping kids to do their homework? It's not as if everyone else using the computers is doing critical work.

Raahh · 10/01/2023 14:24

Stella yes, she had to go due to the prescription fraud. I felt the same about her. I grew to like her- and she was light relief- which is missing most of the time at the moment (though Luca being back might provide some lighter moments).

KilledByWitches · 10/01/2023 16:12

Anyone else notice the drink she had at the end was an energy drink? My bet is she's going to collapse after using them to stay awake/

Raahh · 10/01/2023 16:48

Killed I noticed that- Doctors really are not subtle are they Grin- it was bit like Gobby popping pills before her heart attack. Scarlett will definitely end up drinking too many(either at the bar- or continue doing it at the surgery) and wind up ill- which will mean hopefully her issues will come to a head.

But if she is ill and can't work...that will add to her problems. But once the Mill are aware of the extent of her issues at home, they might be able to help?

KilledByWitches · 10/01/2023 17:32

Subtle as a house brick @Raahh
It had a 30p price tag as well, must be really cheap in Letherbridge 😂

I have a friend that only has to have a few mouthfuls of an energy drink and his heart races and he feels ill. I can drink it by the case and still get 10 hours sleep 😂

Raahh · 10/01/2023 17:37

30p??!Even Aldi isn't that cheap. Grin

LilyAndTheKing · 10/01/2023 21:03

When I was in my early twenties I worked full time in an office, plus a barmaid job three nights per week (Tues, Saturday and Sunday) but my day job was 9 til 5 and bar was 8 til 11.30 (but early closing 10.30 on Sunday)
My sister was a cleaning supervisor and if any of her staff were on holiday/sick I'd do two hours office cleaning Mon to Fri as well (only a couple of weeks a year) I had to drop the office cleaning on Tuesdays as too much.
I am making up for it by being semi retired/part time work in my old age😂

Raahh · 10/01/2023 21:18

It's amazing what you can do when you are younger GrinI worked in a shop in an airport after uni for 5/6 years- and the shifts were often ridiculous(and on my own) - and I could very often go from working 5am/6am - 7pm, plus a few hours til midnight for stocktake and then go back to work the next morning. It never bothered me. Bit like going straight from a night out to work. Things have changed now and it is probably not legal to do half the hours I ended up doing- but it probably still happens even so.

StellaAndCrow · 11/01/2023 13:47

Has the Val story finished - is she completely gone? Do we know what the consequences for her were? It still seems such an out of character thing to do.

StellaAndCrow · 11/01/2023 13:48

Oh I hope I'm going to like the new receptionist

Raahh · 11/01/2023 13:48

So- new receptionist . Unfortunately a friend of Ruhma's. Grin

Binglebong · 11/01/2023 13:52

Finding Kirsty very annoying so far - hope it's just settling in nerves.

Raahh · 11/01/2023 13:53

An exorcism? That's a new one.

Raahh · 11/01/2023 13:55

Would you really shout this conversation in public? And how is it Emma's fault thst you have been sleeping around??

StellaAndCrow · 11/01/2023 13:56

In real life that would have ended up escalating to shouting not calm acceptance I think!

Binglebong · 11/01/2023 13:57

Not personally, no. But I'm sorry they didn't show that storyline instead of the usual drudge.

Raahh · 11/01/2023 13:57

Emma and Kirsty not off to best of starts then.

Raahh · 11/01/2023 13:59

Bingle it did sound more interesting than what is actually going on at the Mill. And more realistic than an exorcism.

Raahh · 11/01/2023 14:02

I am feeling sorry for Luca- it's all been 'near death' and misery since he's been back.
