Hopefully Raahh can post on this one.

Nearly time for the Christmas cliffhanger!

OP posts:

I only watch Doctors a couple of times a year (except I caught the end of the baby being born/proposing episode )

Hallowe'en (which was Hmm this year ) and the Christmas episode which is usually a good one .

Before I invest my time , is GobbyPlod in this episode ?

doctorsnoddy · 16/12/2022 19:31

Just caught up. What a cliffhanger! I've never seen anyone so amicably fired though, I'm amazed at the promise of glowing references! You won't be able to travel Val once you have bail to answer! How did Scarlett come by that hamper?
Now on tenterhooks until January!

EspeciallyD · 16/12/2022 19:42

No, he's not.

Raahh · 17/12/2022 09:38

doctors it was a pretty good cliffhanger episode. I'm sad about Val. I doubt Gobby will die, I haven't seen anything to suggest she is leaving.
Re the hamper- it was left by a patient and Bear? (Or maybe Jimmi )made noise about giving the contents away to needy patients- it was pretty clear at that point Scarlett would have other ideas. It does mean she has now- broken a us machine and taken surgery property. So not really any better than Princess- who was guilty of being horrible ( and pretty shit at her job).

Scarlet also put the post on social media.

But I'm still glad Princess has gone ( hopefully fir good).

doctorsnoddy · 17/12/2022 10:12

Thank you Raahh - Scarlett also concerns me regarding her general attitude to her colleagues and patients and her inappropriate clothing. I hope Princess leaves medicine and gets therapy as she's clearly miserable.

Raahh · 17/12/2022 13:01

I keep coming back to this- but I didnt notice how Scarlett got the hamper from the surgery in the first place, without anyone noticing. Up her jumper? It wasn't small, and she wasn't the last to leave (obviously, since Gobby was on her own ).

And how will she pay her fine at the police station?

Maybe Gobby will be found by the cleaners.

I have 2 weeks to keep dwelling on all this Xmas Grin

martinisforeveryone · 17/12/2022 13:07

Hello. Can I ask, what was the final scenario about Princess getting fired? I missed a few days.

Raahh · 17/12/2022 13:23

martin to be honest- I can't even remember GrinIt seemed to be a combination of stuff. No-one believed she didn't damage the ultra sound machine, and then she was heard /seen being rude to patients and staff. I think that was the final straw really. I don't think it was anything specific in the end, just the fact no-one liked her anyway, and her terrible attitude finally gave them a chance to get rid!

Gobbyknew that Scarlett broke rhe machine, but chose to keep schtum, and tbh i think they have been looking for an excuse to get rid of her because she never seemed to do her own work/ got Scarlett to do it/ and was just all round unpleasant.

I had hoped we would find out she was a total fake though- the stuff with her Uncle, and Sutton Vale at one stage seemed tobe stting up a blackmail plot- and I thought she might be blackmailing the dead Gp, because she had failed her medical exams, and her Uncle got her the job under false pretences.

All a bit boring in the end Xmas Grin

martinisforeveryone · 17/12/2022 13:40

Thanks Raahh. I was expecting some big revelation, but there we go then, just an awful character, who whenever you expected her to redeem herself, managed to pull it back again. Shame.

Raahh · 17/12/2022 13:47

martin Princess never even made it to the credits which Scarlett has done from the start. The writing was always on the wallGrin
It is disappointing. They could have done a lot with her, (though she was annoying , and I'm glad she's gone- and her clothes were horribleGrin)

The thing that really bugs me about Scarlett is the way she sits when on Reception, with her knees up and slouching. Really unprofessional!

EspeciallyD · 17/12/2022 15:23

Yes, Scarlett does need to dress more smartly and behave more professionally. She has a lot of potential I think though. Mind you Gobby and Val aren't exactly ideal role models.

Princess was REALLY rude to a patient about a week ago (yelled that they were stupid or similar as they walked out of the surgery) so the partners, Bear and Sid got together and agreed to not sign off her training report. But told her she had to work till the end of the placement.

Binglebong · 17/12/2022 15:56

I got the impression that it was more her training contract ended, she was due to leave at the end of it and go to that other place but because they didn't sign off her contract she can't go there. So the option was to stay and redo her training, which they didn't allow, or leave and go...somewhere.

Raahh · 17/12/2022 17:10

Bingle yes, that as probably it Grin I stopped concentrating on her in the end- he terrible outfits distracted me.

I suppose it is a credit to the actress that she managed to be such a totally unlikeable character.

EspeciallyD · 17/12/2022 18:21

Yes, I don't necessarily like all the Doctors characters but bad acting is rare (amongst the regulars anyway, you get duff patients sometimes).

Raahh · 17/12/2022 18:39

Especially oh yes, there have been some really terrible 'extras' Grin But many of the regulars have been great.

One day, Ian Midlane's greatness and suitability to be Tardis the Doctor will be recognised. Xmas Grin

MadisonAvenue · 17/12/2022 19:43

I’ve not watched yesterday’s yet. I’m hoping to get the chance later tonight.

I don't watch Dr Who but that might persuade me

Raahh · 17/12/2022 19:58
Grin

I think he's been an alien in it. But he would be a great Doctor. I think he's a really good actor.

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 22/12/2022 22:16

Am I the only one who noticed that Valerie brought in an enormous package that looked just like a framed painting but the actual painting Al put up was unframed and really tiny? 🤣

Raahh · 23/12/2022 11:28

theres I did think the painting looked small- but decided it was packaging Grin

But continuity is not a Doctors strongpoint, so it's no wonder it changed size.

LilyAndTheKing · 29/12/2022 13:19

I did notice that something was amiss with the painting once removed from the package, but promptly forgot and thought no more of it 😂

LilyAndTheKing · 29/12/2022 13:21

I was at my mum's this week and glanced at her TV guide. Wish I hadn't but will say no more 😞

Binglebong · 29/12/2022 14:28

Say more!!!

Well let's just say there was a photo which was a massive spoiler..or at least I think it was cos I didn't want to read about the actual upcoming January DocTors episodes...
