I do think party gate conflates a lot of issues. Of course it shouldn't have happened but I can't hold Matt Hancock personally responsible for lock down.
It was a policy adopted the world over. Even with the benefit of hindsight we don't know what was right and wrong in the handling of covid.
And at points we tried not to have it the public essentially demanded it.

The issue of whether he should be there while parliament is sitting is another matter. In reality he's there for exactly the reason all of them are. His career is on it's last legs and he's hoping this might change something

He was front and centre of some really ahiy decisions.and lies lies lies.
His was the line about wrapping the vulnerable up.he lied.over and over.
He lied about ppe.
The days we were forced to be ALONE he was having an affair shagging in his office.
He came on as front man over and over pushing certain privileged rhetoric.he did that.he stuck up and was a huge part of what went wrong and how they camec aceoss.
And even since and before his morals and Tory bullshit beliefs are so floored.
He's an arrogant twat

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 09/11/2022 22:18

His incompetence has killed thousands and left my family with life changing long covid repercussions. I won't be watching.

JaneJeffer · 09/11/2022 22:18

Couldn't watch tonight will catch up later. It's better watching along with the thread.

JanuaryParty · 09/11/2022 22:18

Agree with pp MH isn't personally responsible for lockdown. He's a slimy politician but he's not some evil dictator like people are making out.

Cannot stand BG who does he think he is. He's been in prison for assaulting people yet seems to think he's above everyone else?

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 09/11/2022 22:18

£400,000. That would let me rest on my laurels for a good few years.

That was the best episode
😂😂😂😂

Chris Moyles looks 68 not 48 !

I Googled him to emphatically tell you you were wrong about his age and he's actually mid 50s 😱

Mezmer · 09/11/2022 22:20

RocketsMagnificent7 · 09/11/2022 22:13

Do you genuinely not get it?

No please enlighten me and tell me how I should be thinking?

Lockdown is not why people don't like him.
That's the furthest from it for me.god id hate to see the bloody deaths and ill health if they hadn't!

CarPoor · 09/11/2022 22:21

I don't really like BG taking the moral high ground. Hes not exactly the epitome of morality. And tbh Chris Moyles was a right sexist knob on his show so he's hardly a shining beacon of good either

I don't want to watch MH get interviewed and interrogated. I watch I'm a celeb for a laugh and I don't want it to be a political showdown

SavingsThreads · 09/11/2022 22:12

I actually feel quite sorry owen, with them all fibbing to him. Feels mean

Me too. It was funny the first day when CM said he was a champion dancer, but it’s gone on too long now IMO.

Emilyjayne9421 · 09/11/2022 22:22

This might not be a popular opinion but -

I don’t think that the others have the right to decide who should and shouldn’t be there. I don’t like Charlene trying to analyse why he’s there - why are any of them there?
I’ve really enjoyed tonight personally, I haven’t laughed that much in a long time! I’m willing to give anyone a chance.

Pretty much every country in the world has lockdowns.

I completely agree

Topgub · 09/11/2022 22:24

I bet the producers couldn't believe their luck

They know fine well that folk fighting is far more popular

I find it really uncomfortable. I especially didn't like the year Ian whatshis name was bullied

Calmdown14 · 09/11/2022 22:24

But what would anyone have done to stop that? Why did every country round the world bar Sweden lock down.

Of course there are things that could have been better handled but I feel vilifying one person is ridiculous. I can dislike him for being a love rat and think he should have set a better example but had he done that it wouldn't have made a difference to the shit things covid caused.

Mumsnet was a frenzy of people wanting the rules to go even further in that period. He implemented rules based on advice. They may not have been the best rules but hindsight makes things rather easier.

I just think that treating him so differently to another love rat or a convicted abuser is double standards

Norugratsatall · 09/11/2022 22:24

Agree but boy is he gullible!

Jenasaurus · 09/11/2022 22:25

The only way MH can avoid being continually voted to do the trials is if someone less favourable goes in....maybe Putin is free.

He lied through his fucking teeth, he wasted a helluva lot of tax payers money, hes a Tory etc etc need i say more?

Yes BG assaulted a guy, Ant drove when he was pissed, but theyve paid their dues and in BGs case it was 15 years ago.. MHs fuckups still resonates with thousands of UK citizens.
I think BG just as entitled to feel how he feels, doesnt mean he thinks hes above everyone else.

The only lie is the champion dancer, all the rest is true and it seemed funny again tonight.

I'm desperate for anything other than MH.
