You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

I remembered !
@KangarooKenny -it's called Christmas Town! It's a Candace Cameron Bure one- and it's the one where she is a teacher, moving to a new job. And there's a broken angel ornament? And there is a subplot involving a foster child- and CCB becomes the local teacher, in the end.

Raahh · 11/11/2022 20:22

Kangaroo(It's on on Monday 21/11 at 5pm on Movies 24).

KangarooKenny · 11/11/2022 21:05

Thank you 🎄

RenoDakota · 11/11/2022 22:01

The Channel 5 one this afternoon had Jaclyn Smith and Patrick Duffy in it!
Random Acts of Christmas. Was crap though.

ShakeYourFeathers · 12/11/2022 12:51

Another regular of the hallmark movies is Jesse Metcalfe from Desperate Housewives and Chesapeake Shores amongst other things. He is currently on channel 5 movie Christmas under the Stars

Thanks..I love a time slip film!

Apologies if someone had already suggested this (haven't had chance to read the whole thread yet!), but there's a film where a nurse from the past ends up in the present day. No-one believes her apart from one man. Just googled it and it's called 'journey back to Christmas'.

Also 'angels in the snow' although it's not a mood lifting film in one sense.

So pleased there are other saddos people who love a cheesey Christmas film.

Did you know a Lindsay Lohan one is coming out ok Netflix? I can't wait

I watched it this morning. It’s dreadful but it’s a Christmas movie so watchable. Not the best though!

Saw the end of that.

now watching one with Will from will & Grace and Charlotte from sex & the city.

I don’t think I could follow the rules of being returned to Earth for a week!

Raahh · 12/11/2022 18:03

'Journey Back to Christmas' - my favourite CCB one (which I actually have permanently recorded from about 5 years ago on my planner Grin) Grin is just starting on C5
It is a film I can watch any time, really- even though it's a Christmas film. (As I said up thread- the time scales are really stretched to the limit thoughGrin)

The one with MARIAH CAREY in it is FREE on Prime! It also has Lacey Chabert and wossername who plays the dark haired witch in Hocus Pocus!

Another question: Is there ever a film where either the main character or their love interest have a child but are NOT widowed? Is there ever an ex?? Is Hallmark run by people who from upon divorce?

What is the Mariah Carey movie called

JenniferWooley · 12/11/2022 21:39

I'm watching All About Christmas Eve on prime with Haylie Duff & Linc from Greys Anatomy - it's a Christmas version of Sliding Doors.

DD says I'm sad because I get a weird smiley happy look when they finally get together every time I watch a cheesy Christmas movie even though I know it's going to happen 😂

60smusic · 12/11/2022 21:58

Oh just watched the lindsay lohan one..... SO Bad, don't know why I kept watching!

KangarooKenny · 13/11/2022 08:46

A TlkTok popped up yesterday and they say the 4 best Hallmark films are -
An Unexpected Christmas
Making Spirits Bright
Mingle All The Way
Ghosts of Christmas Always

KangarooKenny · 13/11/2022 08:47

And A Very Merry Mix `up.
Must have been best 5 !

BigFatLiar · 13/11/2022 08:59

They seem to think the world is full of attractive single mums and handsome single men. Probably a Christmas thing, so much easier with a small child, who isn't a nightmare.

BigFatLiar · 13/11/2022 09:05

Another timeslip film on Christmas 24+ at lunchtime, A TIMELESS CHRISTMAS, a man travels from 1903 to 2020 where a woman helps hom experience a modern Christmas.
On Great!Xmas at 3pm Correcting Christmas.

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 13/11/2022 12:50

I've just watched Random Acts of Christmas and Jaclyn Smith (ex Charlie's Angels) plays Lauren, the mother of Sydney one of the main characters.

Rummikub · 13/11/2022 13:30

Watching channel 5s offering today
Lea Thompson is in it as mum I think

Raahh · 13/11/2022 13:38

@SynchOrSwim the Mariah one is called A Christmas Melody.
It's on on Wednesday, on GRT!Xmas movies at 12pm Grin

Rummikub · 13/11/2022 13:38

Oh and Doc from
back to the future as the magical influence
wonder who else will turn up.

RenoDakota · 13/11/2022 13:56

Oh wow, just saw Journey Back To Christmas and am actually blubbing.
Woman crashes her car into a snowdrift in 1945 and ends up in 2016. Kind family take her in, all about family etc, etc. And the gorgeous lead actor is Oliver Hudson, who I just found out is Goldie Hawn's son.
All fabulous.

Rummikub · 13/11/2022 15:16

I’ll have to watch out for that one.

I think the time slip ones are my favourites.

I really enjoyed the one I’ve just seen on channel 5., Next stop, Christmas.

On her train journey home she falls asleep and wakes up ten years earlier in 2011. Similar family themes. No widower with young child.

lead actress is in the next one now and don’t think my brain can handle that!

RenoDakota · 13/11/2022 16:57

Just watched that one too, @Rummikub. Loved it! Although I don't care much for the time slip thing in 'normal' films.
