Jesus! Just watched last nights episode. This series started off strong and now it's just carnage.

Thomas was absolutely shit stirring there, I do like him but that whole confrontation of April was not really cool. I get why he's fucked off because I do think April is fake but just have a private convo, blow up there, whatever. Whitney was spot on when she said he was just talking over everyone. The little flounce and then 'I'm back for more' made me howl

April's performance was pretty funny though, and Chanita definitely thinks she's fake too. I think only Whitney stands up for April (although Kasia said something kind about her too) which speaks volumes.

I like Sophie a lot. Johnathan is just not emotionally mature enough to handle any kind of proper relationship - to hear him say (despite Adrian and Thomas clearly laying it out to him) that he doesn't understand what the issue is when it's abundantly clear the comments he made were proper tactless is bewildering. I respect him for saying he doesn't care what other people think of him and wouldn't associate with those people (I can't think why ) but man, appreciate that you can be wrong and stop being defensive. The stupid comment about 'I just won't talk then' is so laughable and classic defensive mode.

Whitney and Matt - blergh. I don't know why Gemma had an issue with Whitney saying Matt - everyone was asked and gave an answer. Although I did laugh when Whit said it was because he seems like a good person, like...what?

It's all such a shitshow even KwaMeMe is starting to look reasonable at points. I couldn't decide if he was surprised Johnathan didn't fancy Sophie because KwaMeMe thinks everyone should fancy Sophie or if it's because he thinks Johnathan should have realised he didn't find her attractive before he slept with her.

When Johnathan said he wouldn't mix with any of them outside the show, I did wonder if it was a sly dig at Sophie ie he wouldn't usually mix with her if it wasn't for the show either.

I liked Jenna being quietly bolshy and supportive of Sophie.

Do we think they'll let Whits and Matt partner swap or boot them off the show?

Matt looked like Dracula popping round for a bite in that bridge preview. Also had serial killer face going in for a hug in the tiny tea cup room. Hideous pairing.

Can’t abide Gemma though, imagine inviting yourself to stay in another couple’s room! It’s probably because they are just a pair of campy GBFs as far as she’s concerned, so she’s welcome to plonk her arse on their bedspread and spend 3 hours moaning with a wine glass in her hand while they look on adoringly. She seems like an oblivious energy vampire to me.

Gemma asking to share was really odd. I just kept thinking, do they not have another spare room? And if there's only one spare room, why does Matt get it?

Jonathan does seem to know exactly what he wants. Like exactly. He wants someone who isn't materialistic, who isn't obsessed with insta or social media, who is naturally pretty, slim, no 'horse legs', happy to drop everything and travel with him whenever he wants, lives rurally or prepared to, down to earth...

It's like he's forgetting that having a partner isn't like designing a Sim. You can't dictate everything or makes others change to suit you. This is why you're single mate.

Gemma is just desperate for love. She wants to be adored by someone who also wants to shag her. It doesn't sound like she's had both before. Plenty of friends and family who adore her, plenty of shags, but no one who ticks both boxes.

I really hope they just got a bad bunch this year and this isn't a sign of what it's going to be like from now on.

I think she didn’t want to stay on her own, hence kipping in with the boys. That’s what I mean, she thinks nothing of parking herself in their space and making it all about her when they’re trying to have some alone time. Energy vampire sucking all the joy out of the room.

I still can't quite believe that Matt has managed to con the producers out of his own room in the honeymoon resort; his own apartment; and now his own room at the retreat. Basically they're paying for him to live on his own in a range of accommodation whilst hurtling abuse at Gemma and giving the rest of us nightmares with his table manners and his growling approach to kissing

I'm afraid I don't see where it can go from here,, with everyone being so social media aware now and wanting to be an influencer (ie not want a proper job...) it just seems like an easy channel for them, and they don't give a monkeys that it drags their family in with them.

Bring back the old format I tell you. A weeks honeymoon in the Lake District in a tent followed by returning to live and work in one of their suburban flats.

The drudge of day to day life spending the evenings playing card games and drinking cheap red. No dinner parties or commitment ceremonies to dress up for.

It was pure reality and this lot would run a mile. Sign them up and see how long they'd last 😂

I think it's pretty bad form to tell the world you don't want to 'rip someone's clothes off' after doing just that for a week in St Lucia or wherever. Jonathan is disappointing and Sophie deserves better. Funny how the intros led to the opposite conclusion!

@marmiteadict yeah you're right, none of this st lucia and fancy pants dress up nights, just a good old week in great yarmouth in a caravan that smells like sprouts and a tepid cup of tea at the tv studio once a week, that'd sort the wheat from the chaffage!

It may just be editing but I’ve noticed Gemma never asks after anyone else. She plonks herself down next to someone and witters on about her own trials and tribulations (that she’s caused herself)

Although re Gemma - she’s adopted and IIRC she was adopted later in childhood? It makes me wonder why because she has ALL the trappings of an abuse victim. It’s actually terrible that they’ve allowed her to be on this show. And haven’t managed her expectations - writing a love letter a day to Matt just comes off as seriously overbearing

Gemma just wanted a 'happily ever after' story from day one. She's vulnerable with very unrealistic expectations from the beginning, she should never have got onto the show. She probably would be best suited to George, she wouldn't leave his side for a second (so no chance to look at any other men) and she's certainly not going to hide any sexual information. And she'd be delighted to get a ready made family with his heartbeats.
