On to the next thread...please don't post anything on here that hasn't been shown on the telly box, or hint at there being something 'out there' on insta or the daily snail cause we'll have to report it and get it removed so as not to ruin any surprises that are around the corner, despite this season being of little surprise so far. Those that want more gossip and info will find it without guidance!
Sheldoninabsentia...but hoping for a return....

Thanks for the new thread!
Did anyone else think Johnathan looked quite cynical about Chanita and Jordan? It might just have been the editing but it made me think C&J maybe aren't genuine either.
So far I think Adrian and Thomas are our best hope for a relationship.

Thanks @Tits

emilyjeff · 22/09/2022 11:07

Just watched last night's. I too am getting quite annoyed that we see nothing of their day to day lives together. And the experts are constantly digging for drama/ excitement, like with Sophie and Jonathan they say they're getting on well so then they have to start digging for details on their sex life, cos 2 of them actually getting on well is obviously far too boring?!
Also annoyed by people voting stay when they obviously just want to stay on telly for longer. K&K, Duka and whitney and Gemma and matt should all have gone last night. I'll eat my hat (suggestively, in a restaurant!) if G&M end up getting on!

Honestly though, I can't see Matt returning from the ick. When it's there it's there 😖why is there no spew/vom emoji when I'm on my computer!!

You can use envy instead 😄 Envy

When the male expert said W&D were a mess, I had a tiny hope they were going to start sending people home ... sadly, no.

It would be entertaining and more genuine if the experts could vote them out! eg
to W&D 'you obviously don't get on - leave!'
to Jenna 'you want a vegan but she isn't one - leave!'
to Matt 'you despise her - leave!'
to K&K 'one grubby massage in the presence of an expert isn't a relationship - leave!'
to George 'she hates kids and will send them to a witch in a forest - leave!'
Hmm maybe we should suggest that format change for the next series.

JudyGemstone · 22/09/2022 12:35

shameless place marking, need to catch up on this weeks episodes later!

PollyDarton1 · 22/09/2022 12:48

Last nights episode was boring tbh. There has been a lot of backlash about the ixperts seemingly siding with Gemma it appears. I think there is more to that story than just her vulgarity to be honest - as cringe as it is - and it was from the start, Matt just gives me horrendous vibes and I can't really place it. I totally understand his boundaries but he does so in such a dismissive way, that it never appears to be routed in anything other than showing contempt. I've been in that situation where someone tells you how they feel about something but does so in such a way that it feels so very personal and yet at the same time so contemptuous. That said I never talk about my fanny throbbing 😂

Was there ever a MaFS Aus thread on here? I'm watching it on All 4 (episode 1 so far).

Doubleraspberry · 22/09/2022 13:06

Many, many MAFSA threads on here. So many!

Surely any genuine ixpert would be embarrassed to be seen trying to resuscitate the dead relationships we’re seeing on screen? Or to have made some/most of these matches? Or to have signed off the inclusion of some very vulnerable people?

Dave20 · 22/09/2022 13:07

The UK version seems more rushed than the Aussie one.

QueSyrahSyrah · 22/09/2022 13:08

Placemarking 👀

Just pulling up a chair for later, carefully avoiding the one Gemma has been dripping on 🤮

They could make a killing with a telephone vote-off!!

maiafawnly · 22/09/2022 14:00

This season is just making me wish the aus one was sooner. They all need therapy not marriage

Adelais · 22/09/2022 14:09

Matt and Gemma may as well go home now as it’s clearly not going to work. I’m not sure if Gemma realises that her sexual comments are too much and I was suprised the experts didn’t try and get to the bottom of why she is like she is.
Matt has been turned right off her and tbh I can’t really blame him. I thought it was telling that he made a comment about worrying what she was like outside of the experiment due to her being so sex mad which I think suggests he’s either worried she would cheat on him or he thinks she’s ‘east’.

Having said that he could be a little less cold towards her. It’s must be hard for her not to be getting any affection from him or even a smile. You never really see them having a laugh with each other.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 22/09/2022 14:10

Woop whoop. Lovely new thread

Thegroaninggurner · 22/09/2022 14:16

As much as Gemma is vulgar there's something I really don't like about Matt. Duka and cringeface need to leave. And Thomas is the biggest drama queen going, he just loves trouble, he's another after 5 mins of fame!

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 22/09/2022 14:32

Matt is a pusher and Gemma is a puller. He's stand offish and I think he needs someone who is also stand offish. Gemma is chasing after something that won't ever stand still. Like the wrong sides of magnets.

thequeenoftheandals · 22/09/2022 14:38

I’ve just binged and caught up.

• Chanita and Jordan: I didn’t think it was so dramatic if she thought he exhibited traits of someone with ADHD. He seemed really triggered by it. Isn’t Chanita a health care professional? Anyway, I think they’ll make it to the end and then split. Her outfit the other day was awful!!!

• Jenna and non- Vegan: so boring. Honestly the ixperts suck. No way will they make it. It does bother me how those with the ‘stricter’ viewpoints try to convert others.

• April and George: fuckinggg hell is April a fake ass POS. She has a wonderful figure and face but her personality is so so ugly. She defo shit stirred with Chanita and then blamed Jess. She’s horrid. Such a victim.

• Whitney and Duka: I feel so sorry for Duka. Whitney was horrible from day one. Duka does come across unattached and unbothered but it seems like he’s just exhausted by it all. Not sure what he’s still doing there - is it for the clout?

• Tomas and Adrian: fuckinghellllll. Thomas is like my dream buddy, but as a partner? Fuck that for a bowl of coco pops. Poor Adrian.

• Kasia and Kwame: honestly this poor guy just wanted to plug his podcast and instead he got lumbered with this sexpest Kasia. She is all about being a ‘boss bitch’ but please, you’re nothing but a beg. And it seems like Kwame smashed. And he’ll dash. And she’ll cry.

• Sophie and Johnathan: they look great together, but won’t last. Too different in lifestyles.

• Matt and the actual sex pest Gemma: fuuuuccccckkkkiiiiinnngggg hell. Gemma sweetheart, your ‘banter’ makes my body squirm and you better believe if it was a bloke saying this, they’d be removed from the show for inappropriateness. I mean Matt is a huge walking, talking, aggressive, POS red flag but Gemma is grating. She’s so desperate. She doesn’t learn and they both just need to leave.

• Jess and PJay: Jess was a huge bitch to PJay - she was honest yes but made him feel like he was a piece of crap. Ironic seeing as she was the one who came across really trashy.

• Lara and Richie: thank heavens Lara ditched that man child.

Ixperts, find another job - you guys are shit.

Doubleraspberry · 22/09/2022 14:39

What I find mystifying, based on the very little footage we've seen, are Gemma's comments about finding Matt calming/kind/happy. Other than some very brief positive interaction on their wedding day, we've seen pretty much nothing that bears that out. We've got no way of knowing whether we're just seeing the worst bits and she is being confused by him being hot and cold, or whether she has totally deluded herself into these positive thoughts about him.

I know this is no different to any other reality show in editing the storylines for us, but because in this series we very obviously are seeing so little of what happens between the couples full stop, it makes me think a lot more about things like that!

MelodyPondsMum · 22/09/2022 14:52

The pace used to be completely different. You saw them come back from honeymoon and go back to their own lives, going to work, meeting up with friends, meeting parents, etc. Now they're focused on the dinner parties and the commitment ceremonies and there's no time for anything else. I'd rather they cut the dinner parties right back - maybe only two over the entire series.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 22/09/2022 14:53

This format obviously gets viewers but I agree I think the format is getting repetitive, Themed week -> dinner party -> commitment ceremony rinse repeat. I think they need a mix of them but have more content of them either doing stuff as a couple or just getting around day to day life.

It also feels like the show revolves around the themed episode, drama at the dinner party which is then spoke about more at the commitment ceremony. Where's the arguments about leaving the dishes by the sink on whoever's cooking day?

MelodyPondsMum · 22/09/2022 14:57

Yy like Love is Blind Japan where they very quickly got into 'discussions' about how late they worked, whose job was most important and who should clean the hair from the sink.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 22/09/2022 15:01

Didn't there used to only be two or three across the whole thing? Dinner parties that is. Commitment ceremonies every week but the weeks would consist of tasks and seeing them be together.

I liked in the aus one that they had the week long retreat. It is interesting to see the couples mix together and see their different dynamics but this seems to only focus on this and less on the couple
